Re: Junior Two photos from 95’

At the time it would be weird maybe, but with benefit of hindsight now would be cool to have recevied a we're using up spare parts kit. AE did it too with the RC10's. If you had one today you could get everyone on FB arguing about it and then put it on Ebay for a premium I am sure. :D

Re: Traxxas sending cease and desist letters to aftermarket companies then backing off.

Business is ruthless. If I took a stand against any company that used lawyers and size to their advantage I'd not be able to consume or own anything at this point. Hate the game, not the player so to speak.

Impressive work! MX Acres on youtube right not is proving a regular old Bandit can compete so this version you should have an IFMAR contender :D

Re: My Ultima rere racer

So now I have seen a Bandit front end on an Ultima and RC10 here. SInce Bandit came out in 1994, it's vintage as far as I am concerned. I am building a carbon fiber chassis Bandit right now with the new 272R transmission. Nothing on it would not bolt backwards onto an OG 1994 Bandit. I digress. You ...

Looks like I'll just have to win 17.5 then, and I'll do it with a 27T silver can and original Traxxas tires.

OG version with Carbon chassis and new 272R transmission. :D Would be less mods than some of the other custom "vintage" builds we see here.

I'm just stirring up the pot.

Out of curiosity, would Rustler's and Bandits be allowed at these type events, they came out in 1994 so meets the 1995 standard.

Re: Inaugural 2023 Tamiya Vintage World Classic - Thunder Alley R/C, Lucama NC - Jan 13-15

That makes sense. So one could run that motor and meet the 17.5T or 27T rules I suppose. There was some video recently of a guy here who ran a silver can in his modern buggy. If I recall he was darn near on pace at his club race with his 17.5T times and was a good driver. Can't recall his name at mo...

Well if nothing else I am educated. All these years for some reason in my head I thought a SIlver can was 27 turn! Duh.

Re: Inaugural 2023 Tamiya Vintage World Classic - Thunder Alley R/C, Lucama NC - Jan 13-15

Got it, yeah I was more thinking what if someone just outfitted all their cars with sport tuned motors for cheap simplicity, wold it technically be allowed I guess. Even a cheapo 17.5t and esc is over $100, 540 sport tuned and whatever brushed esc is practically free. Just spit balling. Thanks for t...

Re: Building A RB10 From A DR10 Kit

That looks great. Any reason you can see why one couldn't drill the front carriers out for a 1/8" hinge pin to adapt to some RC10's and Jrx2's. They are all over ebay as complete assemblies with carriers, hubs and axles for like $20 to $25? Could be an easy option?

Re: Inaugural 2023 Tamiya Vintage World Classic - Thunder Alley R/C, Lucama NC - Jan 13-15

What are the "classics" for this event? I am failing at google. Love the idea of hand out Tamiya motor. In that vein, would anyone actually care at VONATS if someone just used a Torque Tuned or whatever the handout was for the plastic chassis class in all their cars in all classes? So just...

Re: Re-anodizing Traxxas Blue Shocks

I've done a little reanodizing of RC10 tubs and other small bits with local anodizer. The finish varies a lot based on prep. Just take it to them with no prep kind of a dull. A little fine sanding finishing working up to say 2000 grit its better but all small scratches can be seen, just keep in mind...

Re: nitro rustler to bandit mid kit bash

What transmission housing is that that has the provision for mounting the electric motor? Is it using Nitro Rustler internals, are they the same as regular 272 Rustler transmission?

I think it looks good now or whatever you do to it. I really like that paint. Of all the cars and it's been a lot at this point, that would be top three I regretted selling the day I let it go. Enjoy it.
