Ayk Sidewinder and Bobcat Restoration.

Well the painting is done , I try'd the Sidewinder body with a Bobcat box art , its the most ambitious paint job I've done and it was mostly successful , i had a little paint bleed past the masking tape and one of the paints wrinkled/reacted with one of the other's , not badly but it was very annoyi...

On the one I restored I seriously thought about moving the front suspension top links back at the inner end to be above the rear lower arm mount in order to reduce the slop in the front steering .

That takes me back. My second car was a Willy's wheeler , the Honda city turbo , I had a lot of fun with that car , later in its life I converted it to a wild willy

There's a massive thread on the " Chinese blue ESC" on RC groups and extensive testing as well as stripping down and comparing to a genuine hobbywing ESC , as I recall is boils down to 1 it may say 2-3s on the sales page but it's not 3s really and will die fast on 3s 2 much below 10t motor...

Hi and welcome to the forum . I'll start with the obvious , yes you will need tyres , 30 year old rubber won't last 5min , next I'd replace all the bearings that you can with new ones . A replacement motor really opens up a big can of worms , modern motors ,electronic speed controllers and battery's...

I know this doesn't help much but BITD there was a two bearing upgrade kit that replaced the one big bearing with an insert that accepted two standard bearings and I think then used kyosho axles , good luck finding a set of those though , I think your best bet is a spacer of some kind . Honestly when Martco78 posted his Rothmans NSU I thought the game was over , such a lovely scale looking car and the three points I got yesterday were my lot , its never over till its over guys and there are plenty of nice cars this month that deserve some votes !
