Another new guy
I guess an introduction would be a good idea. I haven't had an RC10...yet. I couldn't afford the cars my friends had in the 80's, so I've been building Tamiya kits since 2014. I recognize some of you from Tamiya Club. Some day I would like to have an RC10 runner, but I have no idea when that might h...

Re: Tomahawk rere driving experience
Thanks for the responses. Obviously the Ultima will be the better performer. I was just curious about how the Tomahawk compared to the Tamiya buggies of the same time period. My FAV already has oil dampers on the rear which helped with the "bouncy" nature of it. Sounds like the Tomahawk is...

Re: Subaru Impreza rally car build
That turned out great. Thanks for sharing.
I doubt Tamiya will switch to hex screws anytime soon. That's like asking for bearings instead of plastic bushings No other company can touch them as far as number of kits to build. They have tons!

Re: The Real Deal
That motor looks like it's in good shape. It will be cool to see how well it performs in the Hotshot. I've never seen one run so I have no idea how they compare to modern Tamiya brushed motors.

Re: Ultima 2019
After bidding on a few RC10's on Ebay I realized they are going for more than what I can pay and still be able to afford parts that need to be replaced. I bit the bullet and went with my original plan and placed my order for an Ultima from Tower. They have a $40 coupon right now that lasts until Tue...

Re: Losi 22 5.0 Elite as a basher?
Of course you can use it. It will out drive most of the basher buggies too. Adjust the ride height and you will have a robust buggy to have fun with. If you break one of the arms, replace them with RPM arms that are even stronger than stock. Race grade cars are meant to take a beating so they can ho...

Re: The RC10 I've Always Wanted
I usually prefer a wing, but I think it would ruin the street buggy vibe on this one. Great job.

Re: My Ultima 2019
It's been awhile since I have updated this thread. I spent a lot of time trying to figure out a way to run the esc wires. In the end I had to cut them and put on new bullet connectors. I f'n HATE soldering! I got the bullet connectors done on the esc, but the motor wires were a failure. I'll have to...

Re: It all started with an idea...
What about cutting out an L shaped piece of aluminum and bending it to go from the chassis up to the top of the trans and lay flat on top. Then you can bolt it to the trans brace up top. I'm not good at the whole art thing or I would draw you a pic

Re: Bear Hawk
Front tires will be the hardest part for this buggy. If you can find a set they usually run in the $50+ range. Fine for a shelf queen but not so great for a runner. The rear tires are still made.
I sold my Bearhawk a couple years ago. I regret it of course.
