Re: What is the rarest R/C part you have
It isn't a part, but the rarest RC thing I have is probably my "Team Schumacher USA" hat. I got out of RC to go drag racing shortly after buying it back around 94/95. It is a white hat, from a not-too-popular brand (in the US), doesn't even have the proper logo, meant to be worn at dirt tr...

Re: Who needs LiPo?!
The dangers of LiPo have been massively exaggerated. Don't try to charge them with an arc welder and you will be fine.
That said, nope, you don't need them. This hobby is about having fun and wasting money. As long as you are smiling and teetering on the edge of bankruptcy, you are doing great!

Re: Graphite RC10 with fuzzy dice
I'd be tempted to leave it unpainted. It looks great as is!

Re: Bosscat. Or?
Bosscat.
The easiest way to identify a Bosscat is that the belt runs over the lower chassis plate. Previous CATs had the belt under the chassis.

Re: Bosscat. Or?
I am going to guess it is a Bosscat "Competition" because it has the carbon chassis and red motor plates. $50 is an absolute steal! Retro RC on this site will be able to tell you everything about it.
Here's mine:

Re: Bosscat. Or?
A few re-re parts fit, but the Bosscat is the "least similar" of all the early CATs. From the SWB to ProCAT, a lot could interchange. The Bosscat was the ultimate version of the original layout before Schumacher released the CAT 2000, but it is made mostly of parts unique to the Bosscat. T...

Re: Mystery motor.
You guys remind me of the gameshow "name that tune" when the guy knows the song after just 1 note.

Re: So what did you get in the post today ???
I picked up a VW Beetle off Marketplace. It was a total impulse buy, NIB $100, close to home... This is my first Tamiya since buying the original Boomerang circa 1985. Tamiya bodies are incredible! Some chassis parts are made of cheese, others are made of higher quality cheese, some appear to ...

Re: Who needs LiPo?!
Good example of lipo use: I ran my Beetle on a 3S/2100/10C lipo this morning. The battery is at least 13 years old. I used it in various RC planes over the years. It has been through countless charge/discharge cycles. It has survived several airframe-destroying plane crashes. It is not a...

Re: Picture of the day. (Taken by you)
Is this a state park? I ask because I am in Indiana, too, and might have to give it a visit. Clifty Falls is my go-to park since it is so close.THEYTOOKMYTHUMB wrote: ↑Sun Oct 29, 2023 8:54 pm Got to ride outside on the back of moving a train today. Kinda on my bucket list.![]()
