RC10DS - White Parts Special
Story: A while back i got two DS cars in trade for a new in boxed tamiya f201 ferrari. One was restored into a Lamborghini DS http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=37&t=36795 . The "RC10DS White Parts Special" was born from the second DS. First off, the chassis was scratched and then...

Re: RC10DS White Parts Special
Really nice!! 8) Thanks! I see it's loaded with electronics. Have you taken this one for a spin yet? Indeed she is. I took her out for a spin when i had the 32 pitch gears to test. only ran her for about 20 seconds; the gears were surprisingly quiet and smooth. I have since swapped out the gears fo...

RC10DS - Mustang to ... PORSCHE?
Back in June 2013 i purchased an Electric DS to run on the street. i dropped in a sidewinder 3 and topped it off with a freshly painted red and black HPI Mustang body. I didn't do much to the car when i got it but i did add the body and electrics. https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1905/44727160435_7859...

Re: Car#1 RC10DS graphite mid mount conversion
Yep, i got two easy suggestions and a third not so easy for you. 1. The rear arms have a spacer that allows you to alter wheelbase by about 5mm depending on placement. If placed on the rear of the hub then you can shorten wheelbase. I cant tell from your photos where yours are placed. If you have th...

Re: Car#1 RC10DS graphite mid mount conversion
That is actually fine. If you take a stock DS and set it for the longer wheelbase your cvd/dogbone will be in near perfect alignment. If you shorten the wheelbase by placing spacer in back of the rear hub then you get the slight angle you have now. Here is a photo of my stock RC10DS nitro. The LEFT ...

RC10DS - Gulf Livery Mustang
A while ago i started a project with no goal. It was a DS nitro build using spare parts i had lying around. I used some RC10GT parts like the rear aluminum tranny brace and an aluminum rear bulkhead. GPM blue anodized dogbones and white RPM ball cup ends for the tie rods. A MIP zero maintenance ball...

Re: RC10DS - Fat Bottom Mustang
Well, I got a variation of wheel/hex extenders but was unable to use them due to screw threads. One side is standard and the other is metric. This was in order to move the wheels closer to the body rather. Since none of the extenders worked for me i resorted to using the original Associated Mustang ...

Re: HPI wheels on RC10DS questions!
I have found that the best offset is 0 in the front and 3mm or 6mm in the rear if im using a 200mm HPI body. You can go wider in the rear if you run the 200mm front/210mm rear HPI bodies like the barracuda, challlenger and 68 camaro. I have a 6mm offset wheel with a wide hex to get the tire close to...

Re: HPI wheels on RC10DS questions!
Sometimes you have a clearance issue. On my lamborghini DS i used 0 offset Associated NTC3 12mm hex wheels and they spin freely when fully turned without rubbing suspension arms. At the same time i have my DS Camaro with HPI 0 offset vintage wheels and those tend rub when fully turned. I remedied th...
