OK, maybe it isnt exactly vintage, but it will be some day.
This little guy has about every hop up part on it with exception of aluminum arms. Stayed with the brushed arrangement because that is what it was originally equipped with. I dont plan on...

Nice, I sold my nitro one recently and I have the yellow, black, white body coloured electric one, it doesn't have imitation engine cooling head.
So just got my hands on this thing of beauty.
Needs some light touch up, Camel decals and will try to source the right electronics as seen in promotion video.

I saw this on Instagram and loved it...I should have remembered more pics would be available on RC10talk....so here i am admiring the build.
You did great on this restore. The ultimate thrill would be to run her on smooth pavement.
Possibly a totally newbie question as I am a total newbie; does anyone know what glow plug a vintage Kyosho GS11r engine would require? It is from a pureten gp spider mk2 car.
Anyone wired one of these mechanical speed controls up minus the resistors?
What's the pro's and con's of doing so?
Thanks

I used to run no resistors on my old tamiya's , I'd link up the wires that went to the resistor this gave all parts of the contact plate full throttle , with the old Acoms servos being so slow it it meant I got to full throttle much quicker but it...
So as in my introduction I recently acquired this Optima mid mostly complete and appearing in running order but in need of a lot of tlc. It's an exciting little project for my first trip back into the RC world after about 20 years away ...

I am still waiting for one to pop up on ebay for a decent price. Would like to do the stickboy electric conversion to the buggy version with the PRO-x body. aperently no one in europe is selling one, and the ones in US are like $300 whilst beaten.
As the subject says I'm looking for insight into when and on which buggy model Kyosho first used 48p gears and which model was the last to use 0.8 mod?
My own research by looking through manuals would indicate it was on the Triumph with the TM-7...

Yes, the w-0110 can be used on the entire series- from Ultima to the Outlaw Ultima to the Optima, Turbo Optima, Javelin, Salute, and into the Outrage and 2wd scale car series. Anything with that came with a UM-1 or OT-27 (sprockets and gears for...
Back in the late ‘80’s, our local RC track established two classes for off-road 2wd stock – “RC10” and “540” which was open to everything else. I’d been competing with an RC10 (in both stock and modified) and getting my butt kicked so I wanted to...

Hi, does anyone know the name/product code of the vintage yellow of the rocky 4wd please?
Also don’t suppose anyone has a rocky 4wd or turbo rocky 4wd for sale?

I just dug this old car out of my cellar; I know it's a Kyosho, but maybe some of you guys can help me identify the model? I need to identify the part in the pic - it's a front suspension holder, but I can't find one like it anywhere...

If You buy a new part, I´d recommend drilling (3mm) the suspension pin holes, all the way thru, both on the front piece and the rear piece. And then find/make some longer protruding suspension pins with Circlips. Just like stock on the Optima MID....
I dug out my vintage outlaw rampage from storage today and looks like I need new tires, body, decals and replace a few broken parts. While searching for parts noticed there are some rampage pro parts like the blue aluminum chassis, pro arms...

I made some trades for a NIB ultima
I have bags 1,2,4,5,6,7,8, but I think I'm missing #3.
Unless 3 is the card that has the shocks, gearbox, esc, etc... on it?
Any help here would be appreciated, I've always been more into losi buggies...

Thank you. I wasn't totally sure, but it looked like it was all there. I didnt want to open anything up to make sure.

I´m not crazy about it either - Like You said, perhaps with a different wing / wing color.
A god and creative painter, would most likely be able to make it look good.
Well, I think it looks super cool. Different, but super cool.

Something a little different for the Kyosho crowd. This conversion for the Ultima is similar to my other C2.1 conversions but lacks an upper deck and uses a Traxxas front bulkhead and special tower to simulate a Kyosho front end. It is wider than...

For runners we will have an upper brace with mounting for a shorty lipo, but I don’t want to change the lower chassis design at all to keep it authentic. This 1/8” 6061 is pretty tough compared to the old graphite

I bought a Lazer ZX-R (as best I can tell) off of ebay. I'm pretty sure it was raced at some point, because it was outfitted with Losi shocks, and the finned heatsink/motor mount. I also think it became a toy or was sold off later. In any case, I...

Here's another Ultima I've been slowly working on. Little bit kin-worlds-y with its hard ano'd shocks and black, white, and blue theme. Yet, old school also if I stay with the 1.5 and 1.9 Scorpion wheel and tire combo.

Hi all,
I'm working on restoring an Optima Mid and wondering if the body on the box actually exists. Looking at images on the web, the only body I see (as a repro and on original vintage Mids) is the Turbo Optima Mid and Turbo Optima Mid SE body.
If...
Last post
No, that body shouldn't exist in the wild. The bubble in the side window is to clear the MSC fitted to the Mid. The only time you'll see a Kyosho body without the bubble is in preproduction images.
Some pics of my Mid restorations. They are as close to box art as i could get them. Some of the box decals are tough finds and not included in the reproduction sets.
My current project is a regular Mid - i've painted up and decaled a reproduction...

I agree, both yellows appear to be correct for their respective cars. The Bright Yellow appears to have just the right amount of orange to match the SE's box art. It's so much easier when you don't have to mix the paint to achieve the color you...

The caps are meant to reduce motor noise. Back in the days of 72 and 75 mHz radios, excessive motor noise would cause radio interference. Not sure that it's such a big problem with today's 2.4 ghz systems.
