This is the best TRX-1 I've found yet. ORIGINAL TIRES FRONT AND REAR,NO EXTRA HOLES DRILLED IN CHASSIS, ORIGINAL NICE CONDITION BODY,OEM ORIGINAL STICKERS. The only thing I added was a New old stock wing. The rear springs still have blue paint...

Well the dude just sold it on the one deal. Fetched $xxx. I tried but got sniped. Pretty sure it's going on a shelf somewhere. So I guess this is somebody elses latest original TRX1. Yeah, I'm a little bummed about it.
This topic is for the vintage traxxas guys who actually run their cars...
I have 3 Vintage runners: an SRT, TCP, and Hawk2. For now, I will just post my SRT:
And the video of it running and jumping:

What are the rest of you running...
I have always liked the TRX3 so finished building this one. I picked it up from a buddy of mine that started building it but never finished. It is my latest build with a few option parts. The hardest part to find was the MIP CVD Kit.

Mark, I'm not sure what my overall plans are for this buggy.
I'm getting my first modern runner in many years and am retiring some of the old ladies.
But before they get their well deserved shelf rest, I'm making sure they look their best... and this TCP needed a new dress desperately.
I planned to use the...

Thanks.
With a shorty lipo there's plenty room for the electronics ;)
The wheels are from the radicator: I found them better looking in combination with this body.
I intend to refurbish a special version of Traxxas Rad2 sold in Europe during 1992.
This cars were imported by Graupner (Germany) and MRC (France) They were called Radicator for Graupner and Vitto for MRC. They were two versions: the...

Hello all,
After reading about the Traxxas SRT, I wanted to build my Rustler into something raceworthy, combining the best parts of the stock Rustler, the SRT, and Jang's Ultimate Rustler build. I mostly know what I'm going to do, but I still have a...

Hey guys I'm new to this site and though I would check it out as I'm in the process of building a vintage Traxxas TRX-1. I see that there are a few others on here who have some nice builds which is a great help. I've attached I pic of what I have so...
LONG FRONT ARMS...ACTUAL vs. BOX ART. The box art, black, long arms appear to have slot machined in them. I recently purchased a TCP that had what I believed to be short front arms that were dyed black. The car also came with a set of white, short arms...

Hello all,
I just got a Traxxas Hawk 2 off of ebay.
I can't post links, but I'll post up pictures when I get it.
I wasn't planning on it, but it was just too good of a deal to pass up as the seller didn't know what it was.
It's missing a few parts,...

Super late update, I sold this truck in September at the Vonats. I sold it as a roller, no electronics, body or tires, but otherwise complete. I made some laps with it on the track first and it did pretty well. I have a video somewhere.

what is the best modern wheel to use on stock trx-1 front axles that pay respect to the original suspension geometry? And what bearing size? I need to fit modern rubber on a runner trx-1 for the summer VORN that I will likely attend, and I...

Would the tamiya rims have the proper offset you think?
Hey everyone, just wanted to share my Pride & Joy of the R/C world its a custom built Traxxas SRT, and truly is my all time favorite R/C and favorite built of all time thanks for viewing and i will have a huge list of everything used w/ part #'s......

I have been reading up on the Rusterl and have taken note has it really seems to be a platform people use to go fast in a straight line.
I was looking at the RCCA issue here :
with a truck shootout and with a 2C and 3C LIPO, the Rustler is a good...

I have a rustler Vxl. I also wasted the money on a 3s lipo. I say wasted because the car is basically not driveable with it. Way to fast. Not practical. Has no handling. With the money I spent on it with the upgrades right out of the box, I should...
I've got about a couple of dozen machined gearbox top shafts for the TRX-1 which allowed the use of the RC10T slipper clutch. Did any other Traxxas vehicle share this gearbox or topshaft? Blue Eagle?
Last post
Yes . They use the early style slipper with the bearing but the later yellow slipper pad.
Using the same essential gearbox for basically 25 years now was smart of Traxxas. Once you get a gear design, there really shouldn't be any reason to change...
Guy near me has a Rad 2 on Craig's...I really don't know much at all about this model, but it looks interesting and in pretty nice condition.
What's the low down on this vehicle? Was it a decent performer? Break easily? Is his price reasonable?...
Last post
150 would be a good price if it had the graphite chassis upgrade.
I do wonder what the 'many' upgrades are in fact.
Maybe you can talk the price down if you get him to sell the electronics separately?
Hi all been reading for a while seems a good site im reliving my 90's as a teen when I had a rustler and a bandit so picked up two A Stamp editions over the last couple of months which has lead to a unhealthy obsession starting off once again!...

So I just picked up a Bullet. It was kind of an impulse buy, but for $17, I figured it would be fun. Anyway, I see that TBG repros the body for it and several other vintage Traxxas buggies. Which ones will fit the Bullet without too much...

Hey guys.
For those who are running TRX1: do you use 0° (2797) or 1° (2798) for rear suspension mounts ?
Also, what about the amount of caster shims in the rear side (1934) ?
Specially for slippery and dusty tracks.
Thx,
Hugues
Last post
Sorry I don't remember the rear arm have toe in.
I don't have the tuning guide, you can mount like the notice
the best set up for start.
-On slippery track, put more toe in
-On very bumpy track more caster
-On flat track without jump no caster
Couldn´t find a TRX-2 so I guess the TRX-3 will have to do

Gearbox internals are same between TRX-1, TRX-3, TCP. Buggy looks good. Is that repro from Canada or the U.K.?
Mark
Thanks Mark -

No cutting lines on my body :? I guess it´s not a problem...
I decided to take a break from the RC-10's and build up a T-MAXX from my parts. I was just wondering what you guys think is a good medium weight for the original shocks?
Last post
The stock oil is supposedly 30wt, but I would say more like 20-25. I would go with 30-35wt. Associated oil.
Just finished, Wish I had more build pics, but somehow got lost. It was covered with a 1/4 of muck on it when I got it. Love the white plastic!

When I worked at Tammies one of the guys started up a company called C&J Racing Products. He made flat chassis with bent sides like a blue chassis 10GT. He also made a H shaped brace for the rear tower that tied to the ball ends on the bulkhead....

I can't say this is one I've always dreamed of but looking back if they hadn't ever sold the Cat/Tomcat I don't think we would have seen the hawk, tmaxx, or XO1. They sold a ton of these, mainly RTR- so the kit version interested me. While not...

Yea, unfortunately they make their money from a bunch of models having the same parts. Everything is modular, and that usually doesn't work out for a one-off performance vehicle.
