So I tore project Free frog apart to find that most everything was shot.
I had a few bits from it that were still good though. I also had a all new built Frog roller with a working Thorp dif. in it that had about a 1/4 of dust on it. Frogs and Brats...
Just finished this Brat for a friend of mine , he hasnt' seen it yet so I hope he likes it. Painted in Tamiya Silver Leaf with Gunmetal for window surrounds. I think I might detail the rear tray a little more before I give it to him.
Just have to...
Well this is what I've been spending most of my hobby time on lately, my Astute 2009 racer, the thread below covers the major part of the build (RRC 1991 Works Conversion)
It has moved on a bit from the end of that thread. I was unable to find a...

Thanks again for the comments.
I look forward to reading that article fakiee, I have never seen it before 8)
Unfortunately its not an article :( its a picture from an old RC mag one of the big toy shows. Tamiya were displaying their latest cars...
A bud gave me a few free cars the the other day.
This is going to be a runner for sure! It will be nice to have one that I don't
have to worry about vintage parts. :)
Thinking about a Lexan Brat body....
Any other ideas? P1000860.jpg P1000861.jpg

So the project took a turn in direction. The free Frog chassis had the ears shaved off of the body mounts so I could not mount a Brat body. I ended up mounting it on my re-re until I can find a cheap Frog chassis.
Found a box of old motors lastnight...
Fakiee nice project Sir 8) what are you going to do to eliminate the slipping issue of the Astute ball diff :?: It won't be too bad if you never intend running anything hotter than standard motors but if you want to go modified at any point I see it...
I bought a Boomerang in pretty sad shape a few months ago, with intentions to convert it into a BigWig,like I used to do when I was a kid...Once it got here,I realised that it wasn't gonna happen,so I cleaned it up and sold it.
I decided to buy...

Sure are.
The good ol' Oval Blocks!
It's the wheels which are a little hard to come by new in packet, but there are always a few sets on the 'bay.
If you have any interest in Dyna Storms whatsoever this is worth checking 8) scroll down the page to post 98, the whole thread is worth a look through, this chap is doing some nice DS stuff especially the chassis.

A local ad led me to check out an RC Car for sale.. I had NO IDEA what it is... Now I know it is a near-mint TL01. Fellow had an Orion rebuildable stock motor in it..a Futaba radio, receiver and servo. 2 bodies, one new/painted and one used..and a...
i decided to pull out the old frog, clean it up and make it drivable again. I've already fab'd some rear shock mounts (copied the crp hop up part) and working on the front shock mounts (again, copying the crp parts).
This car will never be a shelf...

Sooooo. The wife has asked me to sell some stuff to make room in the fun money account after buying two gold pans. :x I figured I would gather up some tamy bins and see what I had laying around.Needless to say I had no idea I have collected so may...
I hadn't taken the Grasshopper out in a while. Nor had I tried to charge the old hump pack I got with the G-Hopper a couple years ago. This 25 year old battery hasn't been charged in over 20 years, theres no way it can hold a charge. I hooked it up...

i think i remember seeing rc4wd has a kit to make the cc-01 chassis a solid front axle rig. i thought that'd be a cool mod.
Saw that too. Not sure exactly how it would work though.
My Lunchbox runner. Might bring it to the nats if I get there.
3rd shock mod,oil shocks,Traxxas wheels,17 turn mod.,ball bearings.Tamiya light kit.
Very fun truck! My wife's favorite :) box.jpg box2.jpg box3.jpg
This is a new biult frog with some crp hop-ups. I was going to sell the crp stuff on ebay but decided to buy the frog kit and make use of them. The rim outer halfs are aluminum and were purchased from pargu on ebay. I messed up the first body...

Nice looking Frog. I dig those aluminum side nerf bars. If it was mine, I'd ditch the wheel knock offs though. Looks awesome otherwise. 8)
Update.
Hpi 5 star wheels. I cut down the fronts to run the narrow 4wd tires.
Found a nice traxxas bumper that fit with a bit of modding to the old bigwig bumper (yea I know another
non vintage part..It's just a bumper :) ). Picture 1033.jpg Picture...
Here's another conundrum.
To use or not to use...
My wife tossed the header tag a few years ago...
I want to build a nice s.s. runner with it. Untitled-1 copy.jpg

I have that same kit and it does fit a Tamiya SRB chassis. I fitted mine to a hopped up scorpion chassis I was experimenting with. The thing I don't like is that the caster of the knuckle changes throught the travel of the suspension.
Just wanted to show my little project the Scorched Sand Frog
What do you think?

I won a Frog kit at the 1st VONats. I decided to get the paint, radio, etc and give it to my kids for Christmas. I don't have the patience to photgraph each step, but the kids have been swapping off every 2-3 steps along the way. All I've been doing...

I'm trying really hard to get this ready for the next vintage meet on the 14th of Feb, with a Technigold up it's bum it should give the RC10 & Losi brigade a run for their money...............if we go to the beach.
Anyway, I've been impatient so...

i need to know the distance between the mounting holes of the shocks (front and rears)

This Blackfoot body has seen better days. There were/are many layers of paint, the front corners both need repair and the front of the hood has a warp or melty spot. It will be a real challenge to bring it to a presentable state. Would you tackle it?

This is my Hotshot, It won't be to everyones taste thats for sure, but I like how it's turned out. It's been built in readiness for Vintage racing here in Sydney later this year.
I like the Box art, but it's not for me.
Enjoy......or maybe not.

I've always wanted one of these so when this one turned up on the local auction site I bid on it. And won it for $US60.00 As is normal with most auctions, the photos weren't the best and made the jeep look much worse than it really was. I was very...

Cheers Guys I guess there are alot of options. I would be looking to add wheels onto the King Balckfoot as not lucky enough to have a original Blackfoot.

Nice JPS F1 car!
I used to own a Lotus Elite, and I have a love for all JPS Lotus Racecars.
I think this is been based off of Ayrton Senna's F1 car, but I could be wrong.
Just a couple of nice pics of a really cool car. Has full radio gear, sport tuned motor etc, but will probably only sit on the shelf. Road cars aren't really my thing, only got it because it's a Porsche
Hope u like the pics

That turned out great. drop a brushless and a set of oil filled dampers in and you will have a very capable runner.
