This is a tribute to the great line of RC10 buggies produced since 1984-2009 (RC10 - RC10B4). This is a work in progress. It will take some time and help from fellow members, as we all learn new things about the different versions. So please be...

Question I haven't found a firm answer for... it seems some RC10's have much whiter Nylon than others. I'm not talking about dirt or oxidation/aging etc.. just simply as they came some cars had much whiter nylon. I know this because I was fortunate...
I will come back and update this thread in a few weeks. But for now, I just want to show it off for guys that donated parts to the project. This is where your stuff went. If you know the back story, please keep it to yourself for now. I'll explain...
In looking for a couple of sets of Hazard wheels, all I can find available anywhere (including manufacturer's site) is yellow, and a few sites I have been to are listing the white and black versions as Discontinued. Anyone know for sure if they are...

It looks like the yellow Hazzard wheels are available directly from JConcepts.
I picked this car up a couple years ago now exactly as you see it. Well actually it’s probably a little dirtier now from just sitting on a shelf in the garage.
Since there’s not too many AE parts on this one I figured we could all have a little fun...

That swiss cheesed transmission brace is trick. Slightly stiffer than a wet piece of cardboard!
Don't worry, I have not forgoten the 1993 Kinwald replica, but due to some difficulties with the right Carbon fiber plate of the rear tower, and about the machined motor plate, I work on some extra project until...

I am in the process of reassembling this car. I have absolutely everything, except this famous part. Do you know if anyone has tried to reproduce it in 3D printing?
Intro & Background
Hello everyone - I'm new here (as you can probably tell) so forgive me if I commit any infractions to unspoken rules. I read the forum rules and I think I've got everything down correctly.
I got a set of rims like what Jay Halsey used on his 1985 IFMAR winning buggy. What bearings or bearing inserts did he use? Does anyone have a link to where I can get what I will need?
Also, does anyone have a lead on the right tires for...
Where to begin... After acquiring parts for different projects and changing directions midway this buggy finally took form. After seeing scraps b1.5 build awhile ago i always wanted to build something similar if i ever came across a t2 for a doner....

So many possible ways to be creative on this, I created a t2 chassis equipped buggy once but I did it by taking a worlds car rere and introducing the t2 chassis to it. Looked slick with all the team car white plastics with the more modern tub. Ended...
Has anyone managed to paint associated shocks with good results to refresh them or change colors ?
In the process of putting together a RC10 stealth 91 replica I have to get many parts from the rc10T.
I found some in my area but the...

For something sitting on the shelf, paint works fine. Otherwise, as scr8p said, you can find most standard shock stuff still around.
It won't be immediate but with a little patience you will find what you need.
Sassy Chassis ad's were plentiful in RCCA starting in 1990. I figured that I would try to source a standard RC10 chassis as the base for an all new hopped up build. There are only a couple of AE factory pieces such as the tranny brace, ball cups,...

I finally have my holiest of grails, thanks to Asa.
And to think, I nearly parted this car out and sold it out of frustration of not being able to find my Aero-foil. I'm still not sure if I'm 100% settled on the Worlds chassis, or if I...

I figured this thread deserved a 15 year bump.
Do you notice any handling differences between the RC10 graphite team car and the RC10 team car with tub chassis (both fitted with white nylon parts throughout)?
I haven't driven either yet. Been a while...greetings all :)

I would say the tub chassis has more flex and probably a lot bigger sweet spot for setup

Years ago I got my built in 1989 JRX2 off ebay. All it said was new built in 1989 never ran, with like two blurry dark pics of a car and box. The price I paid was either a steal or gamble. When it showed up new as could be with original sales...
I'm pretty new to the forum, at least this is my first thread.
I recently scored this RC10, that I believe is an Edinger from the mold of the gear cover and the stamp on the chassis.
It's in a great shape, besides a few scratches on the...

My original body has seen better days and I'd like to get either a new OEM body or maybe an aftermarket that fits my 1989 RC10 Graphite. Anyone know what the name/part # is for the original body & wing that came with it? I keep reading about the...
Hey guys! Years ago, I built an RC10 with the A&L C2 chassis set. I originally put a ProTech II on it with the rear of the body going over the top of the shock tower. I thought the body looked too high so I trimmed the back off to lower the body. It...
A few years ago, I picked up not less than 3 early Edinger RC10 rollers in various shape and more or less complete so as to complete my Box Art RC10 project ( There were two A-stamp chassies and one non stamped one. The left-overs have been sitting...

Killer to see this. Came out absolutely perfect! I love Funco/Rough Rider bodies on rc10s. Always will.
Huge shoutout to Larry Doe for all of this help in making this replica as accurate as possible. Still need to add the IFMAR tech decals, number plate and chassis protector but she's 99% of the way there.
Hey guys. I've been updating some of my RC10s. Also, I moved to a new, bigger house back in early 2021. This means that I've been able to organize all of my cars and parts. I've found that I had lots of stuff squirreled away including plenty of RC10...

Picked this one up today. This is my brother's original RC10 from the 80's. It started life as an original A stamped gold pan, but he modified it with the long arms and longer shocks in the front along with new arms in the rear. After sitting for...

That losi definitely looks a bit sad, looks to be the bones of a pro with some randomness on it, rare to see one with a mechanical fire starter on it :)
Good day, folks...another question to pose, where I couldn't find an answer previously posted.
I'm (mostly) rebuilding my A-stamp, with the early gold shocks...the era when they only had a hard nylon washer to seal the caps to the bodies. I've got...
Last post
For the cap seal I've used 13 mm OD 1mm thick O-ring. When tightening you first need to smear the o-ring with shock oil and not to overtight. For the bottom seals I used Traxxas 2362 kit. These were the shocks of my 1986 car, and I ran a full day...
I dont know if I will follow through on this or if it is just a 3d modeling exercise, but I have been modeling RC10 parts and trying to translate them to 1/16 scale. I do not have any front arms anymore apparently so I had to find some parts on...

i apologize, all the modeling between this and the losi mini kinda burnt me out. the big issue i had working up a trans was finding a diff small enough to not raise the outputs too high above the chassis, was like dropping a gt diff in an original...

Not much of a build thread as its almost complete few decals to find and apply
Wasn't really sure which way to go with this (replica wise) as there was only 5 of them with very few pictures as AE wasn't keen on photos being taken.
This is one of my current projects, coming along nicely I think but not yet finished.
I would like to use an RPM transmission case, but that will require some work on the housing to make it fit....

How did these compare to the tubs and graphite chassis on the racetrack?
Really depended on the track...the buggy was designed off of the associated worlds version and was well suited for rough and loose tracks common at that time. I raced for RPM...

Have any of you used standard Tamiya red O rings in a Team Associated top-loaded shock assembly for a vintage RC10 B3 or RC10B4 shock?

I built this RC 10 in the early 90’s while I was working at RC Car Action mag. Dig it out the other day. Had Tekin 410k esc. Carbon fiber tub chassis. Anodized old style shock bodies from Associated. Reedy motor. Did an article about it but don’t...

Cool to have an OG RCCA writer on board. Great piece of history there. A sympathetic restore and race it at Vonats seems like logical conclusion for it.

Not to be the bearer of bad news, but I believe that you'll find that you have an interference problem between these ball cups. Move the steering as you compress the suspension.
