I just used an inexpensive $30 dollar Central Pneumatic airbrush. I didn't want to invest in an expensive brush and compressor until I figured out what I was doing. It's perfect for basic solid-color paint schemes.

Lexan is usually stretched by first molding then it cools & hardens... then if you reheat it without any support, it shrinks - it wants to go back to a flat sheet!

Don't bother with heatgun, too much spot heat & overspray - it always ends in tears....

and the only other way is by flicking a toothbrush on the body, then backing with color

as long as the yellow is a flat coat with no heavy spots back it with a red will push it more orange .. black will make it a duller yellow .. dont do white as it will be a brite yellow

Yes, the checkered is not quite right, but overall it looks amazing. Funny enough, you will likely be the only person that notices/is bothered by it. Funny how that works out.

I do the same thing as Terry, but use Pactra Outlaw Black on both inside & outside. The outside paint dries to a semi-matte finish. The inside paint is just for when the outside paint gets scratched or dinged, it doesn't show as much. Using Pactra...

when I was restoring my graphite chassis. I used the clearcoat that duplicolor makes. available at autozone. I did use the whole can on the chassis but its effectively protected. I've raced it and normally just bash it and its held up for a year+...

Ok, so this is the original scan of the decal, at 600 dpi. It looks so-so if viewed at actual size on the screen. Zooming in a good amount shows that there are various colors all over the place...which is what causes issues with the vector...
