I know there are holes in the list, but we can continue to build on this as we go. It's fairly comprehensive thus far, so hopefully this can help those of you who are looking for the general information on these motors. Feel free to offer...
I got this Tekin receiver with a buggy a while ago. Before getting it i never even knew Tekin made receivers  Can anyone tell me if these were any good in their day, and roughly when they were being sold?
Paul.

The Tekin FM receiver was released in 1992

I´m not sure for AM but for FM you have to use the right crystals otherwise the system doesn´t work. I know some transmitters are using internal frequency multiplication so in reality...
I have a Reedy MVP 24* stock motor I want to run in my gold pan. Any time I to use it the temp goes from cold to HOT in about 2-3 minutes. I took it out of the car and with no load it is warm in 2 minutes and getting very warm by 3 minutes. I can...

The 24 means 24 degrees advanced. This may be a longshot but if you have the motor hooked up wrong polarity wise the motor will surely heat up. If the armature is difficult to turn by hand this says that either the bearings are not aligned or there...
Anyone familiar with pretty much the end of high performance brushed motoros? I was told, but I dont have much info that these round brushed motors running in at a angle, were when they motors were getting really good, but brishless had pretty much...

Saw a Sanwa Gemini Exerd on ebay on Sunday for £35 so bought it. In almost new condition which is amazing but no battery holder. Im going to upgrade it to Frsky 2.4Ghz hack conversion so anyone who has done this please help me out with a few...

I had one throughout the 90's and never broke mine, but hope a futaba one fits as i cant get a lipo.
For the Epic motors, they have the metal tabs (one on each side opposite of each other) that keep the motor housing or can from turning and for taking them apart. What is the best method for getting the end bell off without mangling up the plastic?...

That's how I used to do it. Don't forget to cringe when you do it
I am NOT recommending that method any more than I recommend drilling a fresh tub for servo screw access
Just going through some old pictures on a recovered HD... Not sure who offered this conversion, but there is the brake bias (ok throttle trim) adjuster that AE did offer back in the day. This conversion does not have push forward for brakes , so the...

i had always heard about them but never seen one - thanks for sharing!
I recently purchased a NIP CAM Vortex modified motor but the label is missing. The package has VOR-MOD 28 written in the corner. I know I can pop it open to see what wind it is, but I'd rather not.
I recently picked up a job lot with a mate and I had my eye on these motors. Whilst they aren't mint new they are going to be used for some of my vintage Kyosho Optima runners.
All were stripped, cleaned then reassembled the best I could. Each has...

That's true, I always got the sense of quality from Kyosho's cars, even at the lower price points. Maybe it was because they had the reputation of making serious race cars with the Optima & Ultima series and successors...Tamiya was never really...
I am currently working on getting a few old cars running and thought I would open up discussion on what old skool esc people prefer to use.
Is it a Tekin, Novak, Ko, JR ????
I plan to run 1700scrc black cells and either stock or light open motors....

I just had a look to see what retro ESC are available. Sorry to bring cosmetics into it, but some of them are fairly lairy colours! Novak in bright orange, LRP in bright blue, etc. When building a specific colour themed retro buggy this is a bit of...
I recently picked up these motors in a deal and was wondering what the history might be behind these models.
If you guys know what 'wind's and turn's' they might be I'd like to hear from you.
Many thanks- Jason

I really like the earlier models as these were what was around back in my race era. It would be good to have a timeline of some kind or even an evolution of the brand.
DSC02139.JPG DSC02139.JPG Hello everyone, i found this in with some slot car stuff at an antique shop. But something tells me its not the correct motor for that box? Could you guys verify that it is or isn't the motor that came in that box? THANKS!

OK... That's a new one to me. I have a number of Dunn-Tuned AYK motors that are tweaked LeMans items but never have seen a RS540 (with quad mounting holes) before.
Here's another weird one I can't find info on. I've seen similar speed controls that mounted servo style but google and other searches turn up nothing on this.
Anyone have info or paperwork on this? Or know when it was produced?
It's in almost...

That's in great shape! I was sure I had one of those too, so went digging... but mine is one of the NEA-950 'Inverter' models... and some goose has chopped off both 'ears'. Grumble grumble grumble....
I can't add any info about air supply, but Lightspeed motors out of Ft. Worth, Texas used them in their motors and if you raced in Texas, you had to have one or nobody would talk to you at the track. Really nice motors.
My first RC car, which I've owned less than 6 weeks, is an old, beat up RC10T2. I'm really enjoying playing with it with my son (6). I completely disassembled it and put it back together replacing a few simple parts as needed (new bearings, ball...

It's been a while but i want to say in the teens- I'd start at a 16-18 and go up as needed. The goal being good run time balanced with good performance. That will cool things off both on the motor and the speed control

RC10resto, it appears as though you are correct! Thank you for the information (I was able to look up the manual and obtain the information I needed).

I think they might be a bit earlier, but the M series receivers would be about right. I forget the exact model numbers, but i think the 2M was the 2 channel used for cars, although there were loads of versions up to 6M.

new cells don't burn often - older cells do. Simply because the chemistry in them has aged... you can partly revive them but their IR will still be junk.
