I know there are holes in the list, but we can continue to build on this as we go. It's fairly comprehensive thus far, so hopefully this can help those of you who are looking for the general information on these motors. Feel free to offer...
So I've been after a Trinity Kinwald motor for some time now - to go into the Losi XX that I am to build from my NIB kit... the intention is to build this car as close as possible to the spec of the car I used to race.
The particular version of the...

I'll have to dig out my US spec one, its mint like yours Dan!
I received a “very good” condition Magnum Jr. today just to have around. The one I have is the one I owned back in the day. It shows the many battle scars of heads up balls out racing. Drops, throws, Mello Yello and Cheetos. Electrical tape here,...

ugh huh....... you said penis.
Yeah, I like to slip that in whenever possible.
OK, now read that back to me...
Nope, no double entendres in either of my statements so we're good to go. :D
Thanks a lot...You made me blow coffee all over my new...
I have a bunch of old receivers that have just stopped working. I took the cases off of them and in most cases there is nothing that is burnt or leaking that I could see. Are there schematics available for any of the old equipment? In...

Well I started poking around with one of my old tekin receivers that stopped working. Besides the crystal holder being worn out which I have already replaced. It looks like that the unit is controlled by 1 IC, LM1872N produced by national...
I am looking for an old esc for a losi jrxt i havr completly rebuilt.... About the nicest looking brushed motor i have is a 13x2 trinity and the only esc i have is a tekin pro tempfet esc and what info i could find on it said keep it above 15 turns...

Any of the Tekin 411g series ESC's will fit the bill. They're super over engineered and have a nice solder pop fuse in case something goes wrong. You can pick them up pretty cheaply too. One of these would work really well too: or this Hope that...
Just thought I will take a pic since I was doing a little clean up.

As Like Sheriff I find those Kyosho motors really appealing, I just purchased 3 from epay and a new 480t housing and sticker set nip. Also may get a hold of a 480s as I need the endbell as one of the 480s I bought has the wrong endbell.
Bought a small batch of vtg rxs off fleabay and although they work the range is only a few feet. On one I even soldered on a new antenna just to be sure. The txs I am using have been range tested and are fully functional. I think I have about 4 like...

The receiver antenna has to be the correct length. If not the short range is the result. The antenna wire is pretty easy to change with some basic soldering skills. Which receivers do you have?
I have an old Pro Tech Charger. The model number is 707 Autopeak. I would like to try and get a copy of the manual if anyone possibly may have it. If no one has it then perhaps you know what types of cells it can charge. Is it...

I noticed that folks were requesting pics of this manual on other forums as well. So hopefully me being a noob and all, this will help draw some other new users over this way. I'm gonna pop out a small trib trib to help you guys pay for hosting. I...
New to the forum here. I might be little young...24 but I have a soft spot for vintage RC....especially Tekin, Race Prep, Maxtec and Reedy. Where is what I acquired over the years. These are brands I grow up around but never could afford being a...

oh. I am hunting down a Reedy Rage type-R dyno NIB and Race Prep Outlaw Stock Rebuildable NIB. hopefully someone can help me.
Bought a small lot of futaba electronics lot off ebay. I was hoping that the esc would be the one thing to work but it does not. Every time the switch is turned on the led will come on and simultaneously the fuse will blow. Any ideas why? Took case...

Possible one of the fet's shorted? What the heatsink are on, use a multimeter to ohm out each device, may have to remove to test, if good sometimes the low voltage from the meter will turn on the fet's. Fets from others non working ESC may be...
Here are a couple of pics of my vintage motor collection. All of these motors were raced at one point in time. My favorites of all have the to be the Slot Machine 2 and the Parodox. They changed stock racing in there own right. First was the laydown...

Well you have really good collection I like that. I think all the old stuff is more durable instead of the new motors . Because I mostly see the burnt problem in motors. How many years you are collecting these motors?
Can anyone based on the provided pics tell what manfacture or turn of this motor is? End bell says epic, can is sliver with japan stamp on bottom. Has bearings so it can't be too cheap of a motor. What would be some good replacement brushes? Thanks
First off Let me Introduce myself, I'm Rob AKA Stingerrray.
I've been lurking here for a month or two. I got a couple of old RC10 Cadillacs in the last few months. I have learned so much here already. In the boxes of things that came with these 2...

Greetings, I am new to the forum and RC's in general. I picked up an old RC 10 Team Associated gold pan buggy at a yard sell. It is in pretty rough shape but I bought a cheap radio shack 2000Hm(?) battery and the car ran pretty good. It has an...

I recently picked up this little gem from an old racer who was getting rid of a few odds and ends. He raced not just at National level here in Australia back in the 80's and 90's but also at 2 IFMAR 'WORLDS' events that I know of. He was a big time...

I got it in my head to do a Novak receiver, this old Novak 1 ESC I got, and a Novak steering servo on my green and gold RC10 build. There are a few complications such as the servo and esc use the older Futaba connectors with some sort of pin...

I got this motor with a 1980 car, but being covered with a lot of dust it didn´t look any different than my other Igarashi stock motors.
Now when restoring the car I noticed this is a modified motor. As you can see from the pictures this motor has...
I am wondering if the output of this ESC is enough to fire up an '85 trinity world champ or an old twister motor? I could not find anything on this ESC. If I could get the old RC10 running lively on one of these motors I would be happy as a lark....

I ran one of these old ESC's back in the day with a stock motor. Now I was not the most well set up racer out there. My batteries were hobby grade and my gear was lower end (a kid has to start somewhere  ). Anywho, the CXII wasn't the best esc...
I just wanted to show off my NIB Tekin reverse module and maybe get some more information about it. Believe it or not, I only paid $18.50 for this off eBay last year. I'm not sure if I'll use it in a future project or just leave it in the bag. Has...

Hey everyone I was looking through my old brushed box of goodies a found these. I know I have GM1 on the left and a GM2 on the right. What I can not figure out is what the middle one is. It has the same can as the the GM2 but a different endbell....

In the course of some recent dealings, I've come across some old motors and ESCs that I thoguht I'd share. I haven't tested any of this stuff yet, but if it works, I'll probably make them earn their keep.

The ESC on the far right looks like a re badged JR esc.
It fits in where the servo goes for the MSC.
They had a heat sink on the side too. Was not a bad esc but very expensive in it's day. Well here in Australia anyway.
I just picked up a Airtronics CS2P with a 99236 receiver and am trying to figure how to use futaba connectors on it, but I seem can't to recall whether or not that airtronics stuff was wired differently?? Is the signal wire the same way as futaba ?...

The old style receivers had power and ground swapped. Signal towards the center of the RX just like fut/Jr but power towards the edge of the case and Ground in the middle.
Hello, any advice on how to take the pinion off where the hex screw is stripped?

pinion set screw is probably too small, but I used a square drive screwdriver bit and dremeled it down a bit and was able to use it to remove a set screw that holds the hex pin from a 1/8 scale axle...that and I used some Kroil oil...best...
Been having another big r/c clean up & I found my 2 vintage Yokomo Turbo motors.

These will go in my vintage motor collection. Not new but not too bad though.

I had a twin cam turbo before, it is flat can like the 05 RS turbo, the Twin Cam turbo was single wind, very little torque, I think it was a 1/12 4 minute qualifying motor.
I always wanted one due to the awesome ribbed can design. It is so different in it's design. The endbell is held with 2 long scres that goes through the can to the seprate mottor plate. The brushes are...

I don't ever recall seeing a Futaba Magnum Racer from Great planes, were these from a different country? Just won a car on eBay with one. The designation is the same as the Junior

I had a radio at one time like that, but I thought it was a Magnum Sport. It was like a Magnum Jr. with no fancy adjustments, only trims. Interesting to know there was a Racer as well.
Hello all,

If it's just a piece of debris burning, how can I clean it out? I already mentioned that I water dipped the motor, and I spray and lube it after every battery. Is there a more effective way?
