You gotta love BoLink! Someone there was a real car guy .
They had an El Camino! How freakin' cool is that? You just know a guy who had a real one bought that body for his son, and they had a blast with it all summer and still remember it...
Held from August 3-9 in Romsey England, this is a special vintage magazine capturing the 1987 IFMAR 1/10 EP Off-Road World Championships.
This cleared up questions about the winning vehicles 1,2, and 3 in both 2WD and 4WD classes for me.
Also the...
Getting into the drag race scene in the latter part of the 1990's BoLINK introduced it's Prostock (1999) Funny Car (1998) and Econo Rail (1997) kits all based on flat plate FRP chassis designs. 1997 was also the same year BoLINK released the Muscle...

I always wished BoLink the best. I never had a place to properly run a pan car, though. I drove mine in a parking lot, and it was just donut city.
The BoLINK Nitro Racer was a gas powered on-road/oval track car released in 1999. This ad also featured the RACEtech G-Force electric oval racer as BoLINK acquired RACEtech in 1998.

Huh... I wasn't aware of that factoid either. I've always known the Apex10 existed, but never looked into what it was specifically in any great detail. Pretty cool stuff for sure. Bolink also had another nitro pan car that came out a year after the...
BoLINK, having a little fun with their advertising, displays a pair of Left Turn Only kits, listings for additional sport models, and a pair of new bodies in this black and white ad from 1991
Introduced in 1990 the 1/12th scale BoLINK Minicup was constructed using the same ladder plate style chassis as the 1/10th scale R/C Legend's released the very same year. Shown here the Minicup shares page space above the just released All Star...
Introduced in 1997 was the smaller 1/12th scale Little Rebel. Based off the 1/10th scale Digger chassis it utilized the wheels and tires from their previously released Minicup 1/12th scale race car. Moving a step closer to BoLINK's race cars, the ad...
The R/C Legends with its mid-motor ladder plate frame design was introduced by BoLINK in 1990 and offered in eight different bodies replicating coupes and sedans from 1934 to 1940. Shown here sharing ad space with the BoLINK Digger, it gives a taste...

Introduced by BoLINK in 1999 the HOT Rodz came as a coupe, sedan delivery, and a truck, underpinned by the same chassis as the Diggers that preceded them. All three body styles were featured in a characteristically playful full color ad that also...

I remember seeing the ads for these all the time, never did buy one myself though.
BoLINK, not taking the advertising too seriously, marketed the Digger as their entry level vehicle, priced below even the 1/12th Minicup. introduced in 1993 the Digger line was based on BoLINK's R/C Legends race car... but that's another story for...
Following up the BoLINK Christmas Ads is... another BoLINK Christmas Ad! Put it here so you can see it compared to the 20th anniversary ad that ran earlier in the year. Both feature the 91 SPORT chassis which replaced the Eliminator Sport in...

That Ranger is awesome! Thanks for posting. I had not seen that before.
A couple Christmas ads ran by BoLINK. Really liked how playful their ads were back in the day.

I bought the Digger when they first came out because it was something I could afford as a kid. It's funny, I remember the night I put it together because the desk in my bedroom I used as a workbench was under the windows, and the moon was shining...
That's the one. The sad part is mine was that nice before I wrecked it. My father and I built it, and painted the body candy apple blue. Being a candy it was translucent, and had to be backed with a solid color. We chose silver, and it came...
Radio Race Car in the UK had an exclusive on the RC10. They got hold of Gene Hustings personal preproduction RC10 and wrote an article on it. Notice the Rough Rider body, hand made shock mounts (front shocks upside down) and 7 cell pack.

this car was given to that UK magazine for their article and was never seen again.
A 1 of 1 buggy that went missing in the UK....$50 says Dinglem can find it :D
While doing some research for the RPS Yokomo SE I just bought, I came across this article in the Dec 1999 issue of RC Car Action. Some interesting text, but the RC10 pics are all wrong; just a stock RC10 replica, not Halsey's actual car.
Enjoy....

Thank you for this old school post!
By chance anyone have a picture of the motors/similar that won the 1985 race for the rc10 and the yokomo 834b?
I traveled to Del Mar in July of 1985 to attend the first 1/10 scale off road championships. I had a 35mm SLR camera and took 50+ pictures. Some good, some not so good. The pictures were on display in my hobby shop until I closed it in the early...

Oh wow, there's some really great photos in there. Amazing to see those cars that clearly!
:D This is probably the best article I have in all my RCCA mag collection. Back in the day I remember reading about this RC10 and all the controversy around it. Then a few years later this article came out and I bumped into it in a book store. It...

Thank you for mentioning the RC10GX, I just spoke to Andrew at GP3D and have made my preorder, expectation is they are just weeks away from pushing these out. Super excited, since that article came out and I first saw that RC10 along side the YZ10 I...
I was lucky to get this vintage RC book in my collection recently. The report and photos report of the first-ever 1985 IFMAR world champion race is simply amazing to me. I came across a PDF of the photos on the internet a while back, blown away by...
I wanted to start a thread focusing on all the pictures (and discussions, comments welcome) available for all the actual IFMAR off-road 2wd and 4wd winning cars from 1984 till 2020. If you can post all 2WD and 4WD 10th scale buggy winners (from...

Really interesting reading that Dirt & Track magazine article from 1989 Offroad worlds. There was some new information from that race.
This is from the September Super Machine Magazine in 1989 from Japan. Enjoy the pictures and RC enthusiasm from the Golden Era. Click on photo for higher resolution.

That's very cool. It makes me wish I could read Japanese.
I agree. Even though the Egress didn't do well against it's rivals, it looked way cooler. You can take your phone and use google translation and the camera icon and read any language in...
Oh man, this brings back memories. Had their thin fiberglass chassis and trailing arms on my RC10 way back when before coming to my senses and getting a Composite Craft graphite chassis and A&L trailing arms.
excuse my lame search techniques, can someone confirm if the magazine (guess its a mag) below has been scanned before? If not I will scan for you all to have a read.
Not sure of the history of these mags so any further info would...
