I remember those pictures like it was yesterday. I must have read that issue 1,000 times. I thought it was so cool to have a truck looking buggy. I was never a big fan of the clumsiness of the likes of the blackfoot. This was the ticket to a truck...

Very interesting again after all this years. I think I have to search which of the old RRC magazines I still have left. I think RRC was one of the best magazines ever if not the best for some time.
BTW someone knows how Mike is doing at the moment?...
I bought a bunch of vintage rc mags a few weeks ago, and have started scanning/uploading them.
I've uploaded the first, but hopefully I'll be scanning/uploading one every day or two.
Other than the 'ROAR Rev Up', the first 6 or 7 magazines will be...

Interesting in this magazine to see the newish Tamiya Bruiser kit, with 2+1 radio, being sold for $699, while from the same sellers you could get a Futaba Megatech Jr...
Here's an article on the rare TQ10. I have never seen one for sale NIB on ebay before. A couple of times I have seen new assembled ones though.

Sweet!
That article and that car are what made me buy my first RC car; the mighty RC10 Graphite :p
I wanted a TQ10, but nobody had even heard of them. I even brought in the magazine to the hobby shop. Back then, like today, your average hobby shop...
There was some talk of this car a while back so I thought I'd scan this one too.

i ran my rc10 once at washtenaw r/c in ann arbor. it is basically a barn that is used for r/c all winter long. i'd like to run b4 wheels and run it more often, was prob the most fun to race.
i have run a rc10t several times tho :)
Page 92 in particular. Just a scan would be fine. My dad claims he has it... he just can't put his finger on them right now.
There's a pic of me at 15. :D

The kids are getting their feet wet with some Tamiya builds for now. They've both flown the Blade mCX micro helicopter and I have the Parkzone micro Cub they will be trying soon.
All my flying stuff is still at my folk's house... and all the radio...
Al hooked me up with a screen shot of this ad from one of the gene husting videos. but the clarity isn't the best. does anyone have an issue of rcca with this ad (1989-91 range), and would be willing to scan it for me? the rc10 on the left is the...

This is a shot in the dark but does anyone remember or have a scan of the advertisement for a 4wd car called Krypton or Krylon or something like that. I have this vague recollection of it in the back pages of RCCA between 1990 and 1995. All I...

All the full-page ads have been cropped from the PDFs on the RCCA site. If you have an approximate time I can search my collection too, 1989 up through 2003 or so. I need to organize it to sell right now anyway.
If this doesn't create excitement than I don't know what will....

Had this back in the day and loved it. I remember when I first bought it, I had to take it back to Toys r Us cause someone had taken out the the 8 AA rechargables and battery charger.
Here is another ad of some mystery vehicles that were being sold by Hobby Shack in 1982. I always thought they were cheap knock-offs of the Tamiya Sand Scorcher until I noticed the Kyosho decal on the front of the Sand Skipper. This ad was in color...
I went back to the parent's house this weekend and found most of my old RC magazines. Couldn't find the magazine ad that I wanted but did find some pretty good ads from the old days. Attached is a Rough Rider & Sand Scorcher ad from March 1983 from...

Great video. If only they would have played that on TV back in the day, they would have sold thousands more.

Interesting article and first time I hear what chassis JJ was running. I always thought it was a Trinity one, or a JG unitas others claim. D&D... never heard of, and if it's a UK product I really doubt JJ would've had one.
Cool info on the gears...
