So, what did you do RC today?

I dug out my Sassy Chassis RC10 and swapped some stuff around.

I swapped out the wide front arms from some short ones and used wide CRP axles. For some reason, it just felt right. (the Tamiya shocks are also a better fit with short arms)

I also swapped the rear arms and carriers for some that matched the front.

Factory Works rear hexes, Turbo Scorpion wheels, and Schumacher tires.

I need to decide on a body and shock towers and get some turnbuckles.

Pulled out another RC car I had from back in the day. Mini Cooper by Excalibur 1:52 scale.

I don't think it will work because I doubt the nicd battery in the car is still good.

I cleaned up the transmitter and the charger and loaded em with new batteries. Now I just have to wait.

Played around putting one of my RadioLink RXs into a Futaba case. The plug spacing is completely different on modern RXs compared to old ones, so not a direct swap. This is perfectly functional, it is just funky that it has to plugged into BATT and CH2. I am still trying to find some pcb terminal strips that I know I have, and if I do, I may ago about this a different way, but it is what it is for now.

Saved myself about a hundred bucks by acetone recycling last seasons race tires to save the rims. Pretty easy to be honest

Started work on fitting an interior to my Mk1 Escort rally car build...

Hard to see at the moment, but the first steps have been made. The interior is a RHD single seat interior (copy of a Tamiya cockpit) in lexan, and I'll be converting it to a two seat rally cockpit, with the driver on the left. So far, have roughed up the basic shape, and started fitting it to the shell. It means moving all the LED lighting, which will be both better and worse: better, because it is out of sight, and worse, because I have to fit it to the bottom of the interior somehow.

Lots more cutting to go, before I can even begin to think about painting, the final fitment of the interior in the body, and the little detail parts - driver and navigator heads, steering wheel and nav road book, gear lever, etc. Hopefully, this project won't take as long as the Daytona!

I forced myself to slap together a mock up of a RC10 B1 based dragster this afternoon, in the thought that it would convince me to hate it and get this silly idea out of my head .............................. but TBH, it had the opposite effect!! I need to slam this thing down about an inch, and we are in business.

Carnage! I would assume my rc10 thought that BOTM meant Broken On This Month. I thought my transmission was a bit notch-y last time i ran it, but the went "nah, it's fine". Spoiler alert: it was not fine.

Wanted to mount a TOJ body on my Kyosho Fantom 60th....but you gotta move the front posts apart a bit...so, fabbed up a new kydex bumper and moved the mounts.

Just added a 25deg. kick up so the TOJ front nose rests on the top of the bumper....and finished a second one for back up.

If I had to guess, cutting 2.2" tyres down, to fit 2.0" rims (or similar)? But hey, not a Racer Mate either....

Making a lower profile 2.2 Stadium Truck tire by removing 30mm of tire, then gluing back together to lower the tire profile and decreasing ride height by 2mm
