Handy having machine tools.
Very Nice! What model number Sieg you got there? Are you happy with it overall? Certainly looks like it!
Thanks. It's an SC3 brushless model. Yep. I'm very happy with it. Enough size and power for my application. Not too big though. About 45 kilograms in weight.

Don't pop your shoulder out of joint patting yourself on the back.....that fix is the shix! Most excellent. Way more classy than a moon roof!
Thanks very much. I could have made it a convertible.

Not sure if I'm more jealous of having the tools, or knowing how to use them...
The lathe set me back $1500 dollarydoos. That was the starter pack with extras. Definitely worth it if you can't leave things alone like me.

Three days and multiple coats of easy off oven cleaner to get the nasty white paint off these yokomo bulkhead caps. Tomorrow I will prime them then spray with tamiya metalic green.

That was not exactly today, but was yesterday...

I went to Montluçon to a vintage event organized by the "Mini Racing du Centre" : Montluçonnaise 2024. I loaded the car on Friday morning, including a set up to allow me to sleep in... About 21 cars made the travel this time, and that's far from being all my cars - I did not have enough boxes for more)
Image

On Friday evenning, I ran a few laps with my Fantom, and went to sleep after enjoying some time with the few people present...

Next morning I set my stand with all my cars... (one was still in a box - and not restorted yet. It's a gp car, and I handed it to one of the wizards - I should get it back during one of the next vintages)

There was many people, and this time it was mostly GP cars with some very very nice cars... If I'm not mistaken, older cars were from 1977/1978

Unfortunately, the offroad track was not in nice state this year due to the recent frequent rains : Last year the track was without grass, and this year the grass was a bit too high for 1/10 electric cars... I only used the Lunchbox and the Big Bear on the Off Road track... And for the onroad, the Fantom is still my favorite, and it ran quite a bit again...
I buy kits to build and ru(i)n them :-)

Am I the only one that pays way too much when I finally find something I’ve been waiting years to find.

Completely ruined my first find and needed a replacement. I hate painting!

Starting to shape the mini chassis. My front tab idea wasn't going to work so a new plan is being investigated.

Fixed the front end, and installed repop shocks, aluminum bumpers, and aluminum wheels on my SRB. The electronics box is mostly done, so just need to finish that up, and on to the body.

Got the electronics straightened out on the SRB. The Rx, MSC, and servos are from the original car, so nothing mint, just cleaned up a little. Rewired the MSC and new plugs. I think mechanically it just needs the front steering linkage to be complete.
