Jamin's Losi XXT Box-Art Build - FINISHED!!
I've been fortunate enough recently to of found (well by my friend in the states) a brand new in the box Losi XXT! Before this was found I purchased a couple of rollers from other people in states, and accrued some new parts where I could in the hope I could make one decent truck, in the end it turns out I needn't of bothered....
So this build is gonna be pretty straight forward, the best thing is, I have the box, and its all new!
But....I cant just build it can I!?, there's a few parts I've been collecting...
Original XXT/XXT-CR & XX-T CR Graphite + sticker sheets
Losi die cut yellow stickers
XXT-CR bodyshell
XXT-CR chassis
XXT-CR Rear end conversion
Aluminium dogbones (these were an excellent find, and only cost me $10!)
Losi polished motor plate
Trinity brace (another great find)
Losi HD balljoints.
I have also picked up these parts in recent weeks:
RPM one piece draglink
XXT-CR hold down strap (this didnt come with the new chassis! - WTF!?)
New spur gear (although I plan on finding a hydra drive)
And finally some Lunsford titanium turnbuckles (still need 2 more though)
I'm still in the process of building my XX, once that is done I'll start on this, all in good time. Plus there is still a few more parts I need. I am also building up one of the old XXT trucks I bought to sell on (which is gonna be prety mint!) to help pay for the parts for this one, stay tuned.
Again there is the decision to try and keep things 'stock' or upgrade all parts where possible with XXX parts like shocks, wheels etc. I am very happy that I have some new original wheels (cos I think they are really cool), the fronts are fairly easy to find, but the rears - no chance!
Stay tuned peeps!

Re: Jamin's Losi XXT (CR) Build
Ok, so this post changes everything, totally.
I made an awesome score this week, after looking at a couple of BNIB XXT G+ going for $400+ on ebay (WTF?) I have managed to source a BNIP graphite chassis (XL for the G+)! In fact I was sent 2! I might send one back, unless anyone would like it?
Anyway, I am gonna take all the new bits and use it to make a G+, which I am very happy about, so this thread is gonna turn into an original XXT build and I am going to spray the shell with the original box art, so 2 more exciting projects to do now!!!
Here are all the other graphite parts that I've got, much cheaper than $400, I am not fussed about boxes etc, plus the fact I have a XXT in parts anyway.
Happy building people!!!

Re: Jamin's Losi XXT Build
Ok, so I got busy this week building up my BNIB Losi XXT, as you can see from the pics, its mostly built apart from the shocks and the bodyshell painted. Alot of the original kit parts have been 'stolen' for my upcoming G+ build, but I still managed to get this together with only a handful of used parts (rear bulkhead, steering bellcranks and gearbox case), the rest is brand spanking new!
I'll post some proper pics up once its finished, but here it is for now, straight out of the box, bit boring I know, but its just as Mr Losi intended.

Re: Jamin's Losi XXT Build
Yeah is all OOTB stuff so not really that exciting. I am going to do the shell like the box art, so when its done it should look really good.
I've even kept those awful bushings on it, just to keep it OEM, along with the slider driveshafts.

Re: Jamin's Losi XXT Build
That looks super sweet Ben.... I love it when all the plastic parts are all new & shiney!
Your original plans were kind of on a similar trail as my XX buggy... indeed I brought my buggy NIB from the states also, & was rather dismayed to find a lack of ball races, slider driveshafts & the absence of the fabled Hydradrive... Like you, i'd brought the 'sport' model.... an option which was not available in the UK when the XX was new, so assumed all kits were the same! I've spent ages (& spent a fortune) gathering all the correct genuine bearings... but even so they are not the original teflon sealed jobs & i'm missing those blue foam seals that went in front of the main diff bearings. I've also tried to collect the correct parts to convert the diff to use the normal dogbone drives.... but there's been a few variations leading through the XX-XXX ranges which is confusing matters
I've also collected a few of the same parts - like the polished motor plate & blue Trinity braces
I also managed to pick up the Graphite Plus decals for my G+ XXT..... did you get yours from DMS?

Re: Jamin's Losi XXT Build
Cheers Dan,
Yeah I found this after collecting all the parts for a XXT CR, but decided to do a OOTB build, and save the 'interesting' stuff for my G+ build!
I am happy to have the bushings/sliders etc on there, this build is all about OEM. Body will be box art too.
I've got the foam rings and spare outdrives (used) if you need them bud? I dont think XXX outdrives fit, but I know you can still buy the XX type ones new - I got a couple for the G+. I can get a part no. if you want.
Yep, got some bits from DMS - the die-cut stickers, they'll be on the G+!
