textured bottom jrx2 who else own's one
hi losi fan's! im quite curious to know who else on the forum own's a new built/nib textured bottom (super early) jrx2? still a personal favorite of mine we all know the rc10 edinger's are few in number's, but what about the mighty jrx2
Re: textured bottom jrx2 who else own's one
i am a ae fan. a friend of mine is a losi fan. i traded a textured chassis/no stamping motor plate and aluminum outdrive spacered jrx2 to him. i also included a nice jr servo. my jrx2 needed nice wheels and a body tho. He gave me a 5 race day old b4.1 factory team.

Re: textured bottom jrx2 who else own's one
I bought my JRX2 back when they first came out. Mine was a rough bottom. Sadly it is basically a Pro-SE today and the chassis and most everything original aside from the gearbox are long gone. 20+ years later and I wish it was bone stock again.

Re: textured bottom jrx2 who else own's one
Of all your cars Gary, this is my favourite!
I believe RCVeteren on here has an unused textured chassis plate too?
These chassis & the earlier smooth chassis seem to be really thick... I got a smooth chassis from an earlyish car (ali outdrive spacers, no logo on motor plate etc) and its considerably thicker than one I have for a later car... its quite a bit heavier too!
P.S; Gary, is that one of the factory painted shells? I'm glad you have shown a picture showing the rear... I was wondering how the striped finished around back of the body.

Re: textured bottom jrx2 who else own's one
I have a textured bottom JRX2. The original box(lost) did not even have a picture of the car. It just said limited production run.
I plan to clean it up some day, but I have been so busy with other R/C projects.

Re: textured bottom jrx2 who else own's one
I do have a new one like this pattern, it has a mysterious 3rd hole by the right steering bellcrank hole as well. I have seen this on one or two others and have never got an answer why. It appears factory drilled and countersunk and since the thing is new I can't explain it. I am going to build a yellow motor plate, yellow wheel 5 link out of it.DerbyDan wrote:Of all your cars Gary, this is my favourite!

I have another new built early X2 that has the more weavy tan looking color throughout in this thread but not a great pic.

Thicker fabric on the top layer? maybe it is just the texture of whatever material they are sealed in for vacuum curing?Charlie don't surf wrote: Pop quiz-anyone here know why the texture is there?
