- JR-X2 ProFormance kit with Lunsford trailing arms -

Post by Asso_man! »

Although I'm trying to refrain from buying new any projects, there are some I just can't pass. It was the case for the below JRX-T that I spotted a few weeks ago on eBay, made an offer 100$ below the asking price during the last minutes of the auction thinking it would be rejected. Well the guy took it and it showed up at the office today.
It is one of a kind considering it's age, condition and the crazy amount of optional parts:

- MIP hard anodized shocks all around
- MIP shock cartridges all around
- MIP transmission with Losi-type outdrives (there was one with dogbone outdrives)
- Tecnacraft turnbuckles
- A&L steering rack
- RPM long a-arms
- white half rear shafts

The electronics are also top notch for the era:

- Tekin mini receiver
- Tekin TSC 420 F speed controller
- Futaba FPS 131S steering servo
- Trinity motor - Speedworks Joel Johnson edition

The good thing is that everything looks mint, just dusty and it must have run like 20 packs maximum. A chassis protecting sheet was used all along its life and besides the 2 extra holes for the special battery cup, which I cannot identify, the chassi sis in perfect condition as well. To top it off it has a quite nice bodyshell Andy's style.

I have no plans for it so far, but I'm tempted to turn it into a buggy that would go along with my hopped-up Jrx-2:

I think the seller took $200...he was offered $100 less than the asking price, if I understood correctly. :)

rc10T rear body mounts. great idea. the MIP trans lacks the mounting points for the stock rear mount.

It is not supposed to attach to the rear mounts, that's why the latter need two nuts to be fixed on the chassis. Here is the freshly mounted MIP trans from the Jrx-2:

He is talking about the body mounts and the fact that the rear truck mount was fixed to the top of the stock gear box on the JRXT.

3 years later... I can finally update this thread a bit as I have found a PRO-SE chassis and some extra hop-ups like the ultra elusive Lunsford trailing arms and mounts. A Composite Craft top deck is on its way to me and I might order a Factory Works battery hold down system.
Stay tuned :)

I recently scored an almost complete Losi Proformance kit and decided to use a flat chasssis instead of the molded PRO-SE one. The Proformance kit was available back in 1989 and allowed you to convert a JR-X2 into a JR-X-Pro (rear H-arms, longer wheel base, long front shock tower, revised rear shock tower, mini bumper, carbide diff balls and a JR’s Choice motor that had a 17x2 turn). IThe JR-X-Pro kit only went out a year later in 1990. The chassis in the kit has one diffference with the ones included later in the JR-X-Pro kits: it has to recess for the servo saver.
The car will be much cleaner with this chassis.

Still a work in progress, but managed to get it to a roller status during holidays!
