The suspension links and the rear shock ends were the main parts that were holding me back but at least I now know that it will be finished. There's more of this build completed than there is to do but there are still one or two items on my shopping list that I need to locate.

Benefit? For me it's the uniqueness of the 5-Link suspension.....there really isn't anything else out there like it.

This is looking great... can't believe I missed the 'nearly - there' shots on the previous page... you just can't beat shiny new parts!

Yes there is 'something' about the 5-link rear end... it looks so unique on a 2wd buggy (the Egress & Avante both have a similar rear suspension) & always causes quite a stir amongst the other racers trackside 8)

Thanks, Dan!

....."the Egress & Avante both have a similar rear suspension"........

I'm not a fan of Tamiya R/C these days as they never seemed to be able to get it right in terms of a competitive racing platform so I stand corrected!

Having recently acquired (and now fitted) a pair of front RPM suspension arms from Cedric (...thank you!), I'm finding that the standard Losi JRX2 spindles rub against the rear of the arms. What this translates to is that the steering will not operate from full left lock to full right lock without binding. Has anyone else noticed this? What's the solution......to use the RPM spindles? Or is there some other solution?

Thanks for any help offered.

Since I've been building a Junior 2/ JRx2 hybrid with the aim of running it (one day........maybe.........at some point.........), the question of rear wheel off-set/ tyre clearance has been on my mind so I thought I'd try something out.

After a bit of research, the Losi A-3031 Offset Rear Axle GENII which is used on the XXX-BK2 looked to be just right for the job. The following photo's help illustrate the improvement over the standard axle.

As you can see, the A-3031 axle is on the left with the standard axle on the right. I fitted the small Losi 'A' shock spacer to move the suspension links inwards away from the tyres on both sides.

Here's a close up using the standard axle...

...but there's still not much in the way of clearance. Now here's the off-set axle...

...and as you can see the difference is obvious.

So now there's plenty of room for those tyres without the problem of them rubbing against the lower shock mounts. :D

Note the XXX-BK2 Axle spacer (A-9942) that is required.

Now, because of the greater off-set (which is about 3mm) a low profile aluminium nut is required...
