yeah, its just the angle I think. The wires could be shortened a smidge so that the wires almost touch the top of the tower, but it's splitting hairs. nicely done on the conversion, can't say that I've seen a really nicely executed JRx2 like that before. Of course, that shortly lipo also does a bunch to help packaging :D

Not a HiJack here, I just wanted to share with you what I've also started, directly inspired by your work.

I had this odd chassis, it's about an inch longer than a standard chassis, and more strangely it is not drilled for the factory 4-hole battery mount, but only two holes specifically for the RPM version of the battery holder. Been hanging on the wall for a while, I think this will be a great candidate for a mid motor conversion with some foams and maybe an onroad body.

I have a second RPM battery holder, damaged, that I will use as the rear battery strap, and the operational front one will serve to allow access for battery changes. Just need to measure and confirm I can fit a shorty lipo in there but I think I can.

I will probably toss a Turnigy brushless setup in this one which will give me good reverse-rotation performance. As far as the rear toe-in reversal, I will simply use ball-links and threaded rod for all of the suspension linkages and adjust accordingly.

Thanks for the inspiration :) :) :)

That looks great. You should keep it off road. The pro body was longer than the JRX2 and may fit the longer chassis you have.
Here is my painted body. I really want some Lunsford and RPM stickers to finish it off.

I hope you're gonna run it.
I had a great day running a home-built mid motered buggy today. After 2 days of head-ache with a rear moter buggy, I swapped cars and ... instant relief. Gone with the unpredicatable behaviour and struggle to keep the nose pointing the right way

I was thinking about making a rear body mount when I realised that if I use the original 5 link brackets instead of the RPM brackets then I wouldn't have to. So I swapped out the RPM's for stock and made the necessary holes in the body.

No track time yet. Getting close to completion though. I have rebuilt the shocks and replaced the oil. I bought a tuning set of front and rear springs for the RC10 and a set of RPM spring cups to suit. My local circuit is carpet so bearing that in mind I have set the ride height at 25mm front and rear. We will see how it handles and adjust from there. Needs a motor next.

Yes, what ever came of this rig? How did it run and handle? I've been thinking about building one like this. Was cool to see someone else had already done it 😎
