JRX Pro SE Refurb
I have my first Losi part after 23 years!!!
Don't know why it took so long. Associated, Tamiya, and Kyosho always won the war for my heart I guess...

Re: JRX Pro SE Refurb
Oh, and my second Losi purchase after 23 years!
This one is in pretty good shape and should clean up nicely. The bottom of the chassis is only lightly scuffed in a couple places and it appears to only need a new front bumper and possibly a new rear motor mount to bring it up to par. Oh, and a couple of the shocks are leaking...
This one will get box cover art like the rest of my '92 / '93 buggies. But, it'll have Hydra Drive and I might also stick with the titanium turnbuckles.

Re: JRX Pro SE Refurb
Nothing new here... but the parts list has been started. Tear down should happen soon. Plus, if I post about it then I forced to make it happen!
For some reason, I've been easily distracted from this project. I think I might have some internal bias against Losi. Must be all those years rooting for Lett and Masami, and thinking Halsey and Kinwald were traitors! (kidding... sort of...)

In any case, very nice SE to start from... now get to work!!!

Re: JRX Pro SE Refurb
I agree that your Pro SE is a very nice looking example. Honestly, it doesn't look like it needs anything to me. But, then again, that's one reason why I don't enter the BOTM contest; my standards are much lower than the norm here. Looking forward to seeing progress!

Re: JRX Pro SE Refurb
You're right. This one doesn't need much at all...
The hardware is rusty, the shocks are leaking, and it has mismatched drive shafts (one black, one grey). That stuff will be easily addressed. The front brace was cut to make clearance to for the servo arm so that'll also get replaced, along with some new tires. It'll also get a HydraDrive, and I might ditch the titanium buckles for originals if I can find a good clean set.
This will mostly be about the experience of building a Pro SE on a rainy day, then putting it on the shelf next to its rivals.

Re: JRX Pro SE Refurb
Yes, I'm finally getting back to this. It was supposed to happen long ago, but I was distracted by a couple Pede's with Kiddo.
I found a new chassis deck, front brace, rear drive shafts, and ordered up some new hardware. My excitement has been renewed and I'm looking forward to bringing this back to propper sherlfer form...

Re: JRX Pro SE Refurb
All of the Pro and Pro SE threads this week inspired me to pull this project down off the shelf again.
Trying to decide between stock front tower, or Jammin' steering enhancement kit...
Also trying to decide if it'll get the Jr's Choice motor, or Double Trouble.

Glad you are back at it.
I'd love to see a picture of the Jammin steering enhancement kit.

I'm jealous about your Jr's choice and your green front springs
Are you going for a box-art deco? That'll be two of us then

Re: JRX Pro SE Refurb
The front and rear towers had a few small scratches and scuffs. Not bad at all, but my model OCD got the best of me and I decided to replace both with NIP. So... decided to go with the Jammin' front kit.
