It's being discussed in RC groups all over the internets.... hopefully with some concrete information / pictures in the next 24 hours.

It's now official and they worked hard at Schumacher to release the news on my birthday: http://www.racing-cars.com/pp/New_Cars_and_Parts/CAT_XLS_Masami/K172.html
No need to say I already bought my kit :-)

I've managed to resist the re-re cars until now - not any longer...

Nice alternative for vintage racing. XLS with parts off the shelf - I mean to say!

It will be interesting to see how good they back up the rere with spare and hopefully hop-up parts! I also wonder how many kits will be made available and how the box will look like 8)

The Box will indeed be interesting, also spare parts of course and how it differs in detail.
Also very curious about the transmission upgrade and if they've done anything to the shocks.

All very exciting!

Guys, does someone know if it's a replica re-release style or whether they'll take a modern platform and give it a vintage twist?

In other words, is it RC10-Re-re- like, or Holiday-Buggy-re-re-like?

It'd be easy to fit ball diffs and o-ring front-end to a modern cat with a neo-retro body and call it XLS. One would only find out after pre-ordered, which would obviously suck...

thanks,
Paul

If you click the link I posted four above this one (scroll down for body off pics) and consider the intergrator and all the other info on the this car it will be VERY close to the original.

Yes. I've gotten the email this morning and I'm excited just like you and I'd love to believe, too. Can you confirm these blurry, undetailed pictures are pictures from the "new" car, if you catch my drift? ;)

Pre-ordering without unambiguity makes me nervous ;)

Cheers!

Should be clear. And as mentioned the intergrator is a very good indicator of the original platform and that these pics are of the re-re car (also see the modern screws, servo saver etc in the pics). Also that there is a upgrade kit to be able to handle modern motors. This means removing the intergrator (and the diff on the spur gear) replacing it with a rear mounted ball diff. Also the crash back system etc.
