sorry i think i dyed it back in 90 or 91 lol .. just looking at the last pict reminds me how i use to hate it when a small stone got inside and jamed between the chassy and the back belt

Intressting, i tried to dye it black ... cooked for 1 hour in black dye but nothing happend. Not even a shade darker ... nothing. You dont happen to remember what you used 'back in the days'.

Thank you for your effort ... still dont understand that spur should be mounted on a yz10

ive only ever used rite dye but after 20 years i think the colour is set

could you post more picts of your adaptor as i think its just the gear and dosent have a face to atach the spur unlike the pict above you can see the face with 2 screws

Actually the spur and pulley are one unit, just like just's (ok that is weird) Robinson gear. The silver thing on there is a washer to keep the belt from rubbing the spur I guess. It was on there when I got it. Do you have the two small 4x8 flanged bearings for the spur? That is what is on mine. This is in addition to the other bearings.

Did the shaft change in 94? (looked back through this thread and answered my own question. )

Sorry for the late update, i was really busy the last two weeks. The robinson gear is indeed a "one piece" unit. The tip that it need 2 flanged 4mm bearing was a good one, still i dont understand how to mount it because it keeps rubbing on the motor mount. Anyway, i think it looks kind of wrong mounted to the car and im trying my best to find a original new or like new spur gear. I have a few more YZ-10 so i think i will use the robinson on another car. With the 2 flanged bearings and something (i dont know what parts can be used, yet) and a mount from a tcs shaft i think this should be working ok. But as i said, it looks wrong since the white is much to white for this car.

at that point i would think about taping the end of the shaft like a slipper set up and use the spring to take up the space

I'm pretty sure that Robinson gear is meant for the 870-type layshaft. On the 870, if you had a one-way, it was on the pulley that drove the rear diff. On the '93 Works and '94+, the one-way was on the pulley that drove the front diff.

Well i i think its time for a update

I recently bought a yokomo parts lot and i think i finally got the missing parts Only took me a litte more then 4 years. Well i build a house for the family in the time between which was a little bit more time consuming as i thought. But thats only a excuss. The good news however is, i think i should now have enough parts for 3 cars maybe 4.

It's beginning to look very very good now! Restoring those high-end confidential yokies is a labour of love... so many versions... so many mods by racers along the years... all this with a semi-confidential distribution. All challenging projects. You're doing good with this one, can't wait to see it finished
