Hi mate, all of the items mentioned in that original Works '91 thread were my own cars and parts from BITD. All of the stuff in this thread I picked up from a fellow racer relatively recently. His 870c does (did) look a lot like mine as we competed together at my local club.
Why do you ask?

Ah, sorry, that's me making everything confusing by copying the wrong link. I meant that in this post about your first 870C:
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=29&t=41353&p=466296&hilit=870C#p466296
you mention potentially scoring another 870C from a mate/rival, and I wondered if that was the one that became is shown in this thread. (Basically, I'm spending too much time stalking the forum!)
One of my old racing mates and i should also add, rivals, from bitd also had an 870c at the same time, and I have tracked him down this past weekend. He still has his car and has agreed to let me have it(!) so if i am going to do a box-fresh resto i will most likely be doing it on his car. I can't recall how modified his car was though - will report back once i have seen it, as well as updating this thread once the resto of my own car gets underway.

Yeah, that was the score I was on about. It took me a fair while to sort it, but I got my old CAT xls back, the Yoke 870c ( which is fantastic!), a Pb Maxima, Associated RC10L and an original Sand Scorcher. Along with that lot came a heap of spares (including an as new 870c chassis), tyres, motors, ESC's and servo's. All high-end stuff - I got very very lucky

Well this has finally had a bit of a clean up.... considering this was a hardened race car bitd it has come up brilliantly. Wishbones and UJ's look virtually new. This car was campaigned in the 1990 RRC Series by an old nemesis of mine, and the uber-cool undertray paint job even featured in a mag photo at one point! The undertray is in fine condition, and I am considering getting a new shell painted up to match it (I have the original but it is pretty shabby, sadly). It also has the rare white SRM rear blocks, which i was coincidentally asking about a while back. I still have my loose pair stashed away. Does anybody have any idea what aftermarket chassis this might be? It has a lovely weave to it, and slots to the rear to facilitate front and rear belt tensioning. All i am really going to do it add a Jammin Jay upper deck to replace the home made jobbie and switch in some new belts and she will be good to go!

Looks like an associated chassis. They offered a carbon fiber option. Nice haul!

Yup, you're the second person who has said it might be the Associated option to me now

Just removed the rims from the car whilst cleaning it some more, and it gave me a better chance to have a closer look at the hub carriers, notably the rare white rear uprights. It also has Andy's fronts on it as well which I hadn't spotted before. All are in great condition.
Now i have removed the home made upper chassis stiffener it is really starting to look the part. The lovely low profile original Schumacher minispikes are pretty damn cool too

Just threw my old 'dadmod' alloys on to it to see how it looked

I was wondering how you mounted those wheels , I'd guessed an allen key through a spoke hole , very nice !
