Re: “Blueprint” Scorpion!
Sometimes you get some parts wrong…
When I stated that Bob Rodine’s Runner (Jack in the Box) was the buggy that have stand model for Kyosho designer Akira Kogawa when he designed the COX Scorpion. But that’s not true; it was another of Bob’s buggy’s that stood model for Akira Kogawa when I deigned the COX Scorpion.
It’s a short course buggy from UMP that Bob drove in -81. And when you look upon the picture you can clearly see that’s the right buggy!
So my “Blueprint Scorpion” is just a model of Bob Rodine’s Runner (Jack in the Box).

Re: “Blueprint” Scorpion!
It’s almost a year sins I finish this built except for the missing sticker! And ever sins I have tried to find someone to make me this sticker, Jack in the Box, Rodine and Chenowth.
Finely I got the best help ever from fellow member “PBR Allstar”!!! This guy is a wizard, the only “originals” I had was tribal pictures. But it didn’t stop him from making spot-on sticker to my buggy.
And this is the picture proof of grate craftsmanship!

Very well done! Superb looking buggy and a great replica. I think PBR Allstar is going to become quite a popular guy.

Re: “Blueprint” Scorpion!
Looks Great Lars! I'm glad you're happy with the product, and glad I could help you finish it off!
Re: “Blueprint” Scorpion!
That looks awesome, I'd love to have the patience and skill to piece together a buggy in such great detail.
I don't know if he's still alive but I'd try and get hold of the guy to show him your replica, bet he'd be thrilled!

Re: “Blueprint” Scorpion!
Bob is alive and kicking somewhere in southern California restoring his yellow sort cause UMP buggy back to what it was 31 years ago together with the custom built trailer. At least that is what I have heard from a well informed source.
Thanks for the nice comments guys!

Re: “Blueprint” Scorpion!
Add me to the list of folks that missed this one entirely. Thanks to your gallery Lars. Simply awesome work! I live here in San Diego (the home of the very first Jack in the Box restaurants BTW) and will now keep an eye out for this buggy now! I read the race-dezert thread too. Really cool.
