Still trying to find a set of uni's that will work for me on this build. The 3 Racing 65.5 uni's do not. They make it to the outdrives, but you could never use it like that.

I found these Yokomo uni's. 66.5..... just a little bit longer. Should be a 5mm axle so I can stick with the ultima hubs. My question is the length of the axle between the bearing flange and the pin. My hope is that that area is slightly longer than the axles on the 3 racing uni's and i would actually be able to shim the backside of the hub to get the bone deeper in the outddrive. Does anyone here have a pair of these that they could measure so i don't have to buy another set of uni's that I can't use?

I doubt those will work. Yokomo tends to have larger diameter pins and spheres at the dogbone side on their recent buggies. I remember having to try several dogbones with my stealth transmission. All the same type but construction tolerances made one fit, others not. Some would only fit with a certain side up.

Yeah, that's another worry. The ball fitting in the outdrive. The 3 Racing ones are a little too small. The 870c uni's i have in there with the Yoke wheel hubs are absolutely perfect. If only deep dish 2.2 yoke wheels were readily available.........

I think I've got a good tip for you.
If you use the 870 uj's with these instead of the yokomo wheelhubs, you'll gain enough width to use modern offset 12mm hex wheels. You'll need a short M4 bolt and maybe a wide M4 washer to keep the wheel fixed.
I got these from banggood, very cheap, brass: bit heavy but strong. Just make sure to pick the 5mm bore and M4 tread. M4 set screws are included.

Total thickness: 18 mm.
Hex thickness is 5.5mm = treaded section.
the grub screw is centered at 5mm from the back face.

I looked for those and had a hard time locating them on Banggood. Do you recall what they call them? Found lots of extensions and standard pin adapters
