Worlds-ish Ultima?

Post by losiXXXman »

Here's another Ultima I've been slowly working on. Little bit kin-worlds-y with its hard ano'd shocks and black, white, and blue theme. Yet, old school also if I stay with the 1.5 and 1.9 Scorpion wheel and tire combo.

That's beautiful. I'm Losi focused but have a soft spot for Ultimas. When I was a kid working at hobby shop a customer had a pro and he really liked working on them but not driving so always let me drive it at track.

One day I was driving that puppy Joel Johnson style  and I noticed a puff of smoke as I rounded the bend. I ran down off the drivers stand as only a 15 year old could do, bounded across the track, ripped the body off, unplugged what was a Tekin ESC starting on fire saving the day.

Oops I digress, nice work!

Looking good - are going original style with the body?

I remember smoking a Futaba 112B similarly BITD in my Raider likewise.

I'd like to do an original cage, but maybe adapt a different body to the front end. A white cage, mostly white body with just a blue and black stripe or panel would be cool I think. I don't have an Ultima cage, so I may take a cue from some of your builds and try to bend one up.

I also bought one of the Sabula tech / Mr. Lexan's Jammin Jay Jumpers and thought about painting to replicate the cage too.

Turbo Scorpion box art was another thought I had.

Did you ever finish this one? I don't know how I missed it in 2016 but would like to see it finished
