Racing raider

I purchased this raider from VintageAE a few years ago and. Have ran it a couple times but it’s mainly been a shelter.

We now have a vintage class starting at the local track and they are hoping to have vehicles like the grasshopper, frog, or whatever. I figured I would run the raider while others run junior T’s and rc10’s.

Should make for a fun time.

It has a Novak Hammer Pro, a Phantom Team Stock motor, and a shorty Lipo. Of course it will have the gold shocks to run.

I can’t wait to run it on Friday.

I just need to change the shock oil, put the bumper back on, and relive the bearings and diff.

You’ll be the envy of the class with that mid motor design

Start hunting a Thorpe diff tho  those stockers were pretty weak sauce

I have a nip Thorpe diff that will go in my other raider. I want to get the factory works chassis kit for the raider and build a full racer out of it.

Not to thread jack, but will the diff hold ok with a 27 turn stock motor and if I replace the plastic dogbones with steel ones? Also would the OP know how thick the aluminum plate that is between the motor and the chassis is? Its integral to holding the counter gear shaft in the gearbox and I need to manufacture one. I too would like to purchase one of GoMachV's Raider kits for the Turbo Raider they look to be quite the setup.

BTW I like the Raider the Green and Purple accents go well together with your shells paint job

I’m not sure on the thickness of the plate. I have another laying around that I will try to find this week and let you know. I’m running the stock diff with a stock 27 motor and it holds up just fine. I also have metal dog ones as well.

Thanks for the kind words, I didn’t build it but I do love it.
