Heh...thanks...I have been on the receiving end of getting reamed over necro-posting.....didn't want to cause problems..... :lol:
Yeah, that's a Parma body, got it back in the 80's to match my Little Brother's 57 Chevy. The chassis is part Voltima, at least the graphite plate is....the rest I scavenged off an old pan car I had....

I sure do wish the OP would put up a video of his handmade Voltima....that is too cool looking....

I don't think these cars probably handled any better than any other well setup Ultima, but for me, they were easy to configure, and seemed to fit my driving style.....

Looking over all the pics I'd say your car would have some advantages over a 'stock' or 'pro' on rough tracks. The increased anti-squat, long travel shocks upfront, very wide front because of the combined parts, wide rear: thicker than normal hexes, centered weight : all this should benefit you most on bumpy terrain.

Once I got the basic configuration down, there was very little I did to prep for one track or another. I had 3 sets of shocks (the BIG advantage of the plastic shocks....they were cheap!) that had light, medium, and heavy oil, and 2 sets of springs. I always ran the Schumacher 4 spike rears and the 2 spike front tires, never changed them out. As wide as I had the front of the car, any tires wider than the 2 spikes would not fit in the ROAR drop box.

I used to run 2 KVs....stock and modified. For whatever reason, I always like the way the stock car handled best. I ended up selling the modified car, and I built up another transmission with a 32 pitch gear set....hell for stout it was. All it took was removing 5 screws and desolder/resoldering motor wires to swap out the stock and modified motor/transmissions. Sometimes all I did was put a 7 cell battery in between heats and ran the stock motor in modified.

To be honest, I don't remember ever racing with that on my car...may have been just goofing around with it. I do have one on my HPI RS4....love the "stealthiness" of it....all belts, no noise...... :mrgreen:

But...but...it was new! And innovative! And quiet! Quiet had to be good....right? :mrgreen:

I remember running one on my Schumacher CAT.....everybody was freaking out because it was so quiet....worked to my advantage....right up to the point when the belt stripped..... :roll:

That would be great! I am looking forward to watching the video.....maybe you could post up some more pics of it?
