Traxxas Bullet modern wheel conversion options???

Post by justinspeed79 »

Hi guys. I'm trying to help my friend find some modern 2.2 wheels for his Bullet. Anyone know of something that will bolt on, or something that won't need a whole lot of parts swapped? He doesn't have a lot of money to spend, so I'd like to keep it as simple and cheap as possible. Thanks for the help.

bullet had 2.15" wheels; ie, careful gluing or the rubber band trick fits 2.2" tires no problem.

if he doesn't have any or wants to preserve the originals, these are direct fit traxxas factory:

get them while you can at that price, get a few sets. they have been around a looooong time and it looks like some of that stuff is starting to get discontinued.

Awesome. I wasn't sure of the size, and I don't have the car with me. I'll tell him to grab some of those wheels and some 2.2's. Thanks.

What up bud. 8)

He won't be running if hard. It's actually my old car. I told him when he bought it from me that it wouldn't handle a lot of power or hard bashing, that it was just a tool around car. It's got a 17.5/65 amp brushless running on stick packs and geared low. He gets his speed fix with his Losi 22 5.5/100 amp setup.

These will work if you want straight 2.2's for the rear (trx 2672).

http://m.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=m4084.l1313&_nkw=traxxas+2672

You might have to trim some bead width off the tire for fitment. They don't match the bullet style wheels with the holes but traxxas never made dished 2.2 fronts (bearing in wheel style) for buggy. So any bolt on fronts from traxxas are gonna be 2.15. The dished fronts (2671) are also 2.15" if you can find them.

Or there is the hex option. Not sure how long the bullet stub axles are but I slapped some Schumacher premounts on the rear of a trx-1 and all I needed were the traxxas hex nubs. You could go Bandit front, caster blocks to wheel nuts, and hex the front. Then you could 2.2 that thing all day.

Hope you're doin' something fun.

yep, alternately, you could swap out the spindles for rc10 spindles (with or without the longer axles) and run 2.2 rc10 or 2.2 B4 fronts.
