Traxxas bullet ebay special.
Hey pretty excited about my first "vintage" rc purchase! It's for sure seen some use but I like the edge, gives it character. That being said, I am missing a few odds and ends, haven't gotten it yet to see the full story but I can see I am missing a font bumper and all the electronics except for steering servo and motor. I don't have privillages for buy and sell yet but I am curious if there is even a section on here for traxxas parts or if I am better off looking else where? This car isnt perfect so I don't need Feebay in package parts, just something to make it complete. Thanks!

The BST area is always pretty slow. Stuff like that your best off on the ePay. Sometimes you get lucky on a wanted ad here but the traffic isn’t 1/10000 of ePay

It’s funny how desperately people want in to the BST, then they get there and and find out it’s pretty empty

Haha, yeah I am sure. I guess I joined more for the rc10, then learned about the kyosho buggies and then found the Traxxas bullet so here I am. Not at all what I was originally looking for but super excited for this to show up!! Look at this on eBay http://www.ebay.com/itm/282656547197

Is that the one you bought? If so that's a really nice example. Be careful with the wheels, the plating can come off pretty easily and the body is super fragile.

Yeah that's the one I bought, thanks for the tip! I am probably not going to touch it. Would like to find the parts it needs to make it complete but don't think I am going to go for a full restore.

Also be extremely careful with the plastics, especially the white ball ends. They tend to get brittle over time. You can carefully disassemble and boil them to help keep the stronger.

That's a cool looking buggy. I don't know anything about Traxxas, what years were those cars from?

Re: Traxxas bullet ebay special.
It was released about 1988. It ran really well but the biggest shortcomings was the transmission. The case was an abs blend and formed the rear arm mounts and rear bulkhead.. Once you broke an arm mount, you had to take the whole thing apart.
It was sort of in-between an rc10 and a beginner buggy. The aluminum shock towers were pretty but bent easily.
Traxxas has maintained pretty much the same style of layout to today. Parts from modern cars can fit on that chassis.

Yeah they are a super cool buggy, never really looked into older Traxxas cars but scrolled by this on Ebay and couldn't pass it up. Hopefully soon I have an rc18 and a kyosho to keep it company!
