As I was looking for some white plastic parts for my CWF&Shine RC10, I remembered there was a funny front suspension on a TRX-1 of mine... So I dug it out of a pile of cars in dusty boxes...
Can you see what's wrong with it?
Maybe if you get a bit closer, it becomes more obvious...
Still not quite there yet? How about now?
Yep, you guessed it... full AE suspension plastics up front And new parts, to boot!!!
Then again, the guy really really liked AE it seems... Check out the rear axles... bolted on to sliders. Have to pull that one out one day to see how he did it!
For reference, here's what an almost proper suspension should look like - this is another TRX-1 of mine, with some funny RC10T shock tower... as if every traxxas owner bitd had to bolt on AE parts to his car
But that isn't it... it also has a Bullet shock tower, and 10T body mounts... The tower was polished, so was the motor plate...
Recall that the TRX-1's main issue was push... possibly the owner of that car bitd wanted to alleviate it by reducing front track... or possibly not and he just did with what he had
Also a good reminder that the TRX-1 uses 1/8" hinge pins, as the only SAE parts on the car. The arms fit perfectly on the TRX bulkhead, too
In the end, a car that will restore very well... Need to check whether I have TRX white parts to put them back on this car so I can pillage the front suspension from my CWF RC10 build. Or maybe not, after all...
