80's Racing at it's best! Tamiya Super Champ
This is the first time I have shared this car with anyone. It is my highly modified Super Champ. Check out the gearbox! When was the last time you saw one of these? Hope you enjoy.

This was purchased new in 1983 and immediately modified. It was raced until 84'-85' when it could no longer compete with the RC10. It was retired and never run again.hugger19 wrote:sweet! what year was it built?

This is great! Thanks for sharing. I never get tired of seeing heavily modified Tamiya SRB's. So many cool hot ups.

Very cool time capsule! That's a great example of a racer from bitd

Nice bit of history, some great parts and about as far from a super champ as you could get with alternative parts

Very cool! I've been addicted to SRBs for a couple years now. One I bought recently was very similar to this, just a lot dirtier... It had the same trans and strange sliding axles too. I love these things!
We should organize a vintage SRB specific race one day

Very nice buggy!
When you think about it, it's amazing how an industry grew from hop up parts.
The golden age of off road, was there ever a better time than the early to mid 80's?

Thanks for the comments guys! I miss the 80's as well. I had the best time ever racing RC cars in the 80's!
