Nice original Blackfoot

Post by scr8p »

I picked this up last night super close to home. It's super dusty, but it doesn't look like it was ever driven. If it was, it was indoors on carpet. I'll get the dust blown off today at work and see how nice it really is before the tear down.

Total Triple Word Score

Man, it makes me wonder how a 30 year old RC can be in that condition, like it was just built, finished and never played with.
A bit different

Well, I blew all of the fuzz off. Looks a lot better now. When I look inside the vent holes in the can the comm looks brand new. I didn't get a radio with it, so I dug out a new, boxy style Magnum junior radio that I've had for awhile now. Started charging a battery while i was installing the crystals and undoing the servo horns. Once done, i got all of the servos trimmed out and end points set then took it upstairs to try it out. I wanted to take it outside but i didn't want to mess up the tires. Ripping around the living room, dining room and kitchen, it seems to be in perfect working order. :D

That's rad, man. Blackfoot was my second RC. Upgraded from the FX10 with the two stick to the 'Foot with the Magnum Sport. I thought I was so cool.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

I ALWAYS wanted a Blackfoot after watching it tear up the dirt in my RC Wheels VHS. 8) This looks like a perfect specimen. Great find!

That's a real clean example right there. I don't think I could bring myself to run something that pristine

The 10 year old inside me had to try it.

I miss the one I sold to Rod last year or so, with the aluminum wheels and all of the Thorp, CRP, JG, and You-g hop ups. And since I have a hard time leaving things stock, I think this one will head down that path. Build up a cool truck with some period hop-ups.

Careful, it's easy to go overboard on the hop ups

I am never this lucky, I would have over paid for less, spent too much making it perfect and sold it at a loss. Well done.
