RACE PREP and AYK rare items. OLD SKOOL KOOL.

Post by Bormac »

I recently picked up a load of nip old spares from an old r/c hobby shop in Melboure. It seems these parts have been forgotten by time. The bags are dusty, the header cards are hard to read with the ink almost drying up off the card and these items are completely new to me.
It seems Race Prep were around for a while even before they took the Radiant to the world stage and no doubt put some time into RnD to come up with these quality items.

JAson, you should pot these pics in the scans archive ot the other makes section: would be apitty to see them disappear from the forum
(all threads in the BST disappear over time)

These alloy dampers have a very unique 'needle and seat' type arragement for adjusting the dampening rate. They sure had some unusual ideas back then.

If you're going all Race Prep then you should also throw BO-13 (servo saver) in the front as it is black instead of clear. Also the Race Prep BO-3 (front arms) should have come with the black anodized bottom shock mounts. :)

I remember my first Race Prep hop-up was a steel dogbone/axle/outdrive setup to replace the crappy plastic ones in my Falcon. Huge improvement.
