Stunning example of one of the best looking 1:12 cars ever - congratulations! Never had the SP12, but seeing your build is bringing back good memories building the PK Corally and SP2 I used to have in the eighties. Why, why and why did I sell...

Fantastic finish on these kits!

Thanks guys!
Good to hear you like the SP12.

I think the build of the SP12 is finished now, at least for the moment.
Maybe I will add tires later but I also like the look of blank wheels, when new condition.
I have factory mounted front tires NIB but no rears.
But I think there will be no body, I like building and restoring cars but I´m not really good with painting.

I have to say building of the SP12 was not an easy task. Three years ago I found just the chassis, t-bar and front beam at the basement of a shop. Actually I bought the parts for trading with something, never thought it will be possible finding all of the missing parts. But now the SP12 really is a complete car. :D

Hi
No, I didn´t start restoring of the PK until now. I wanted to finish the SP10 and SP12 project first.
No hurry with the PK at the moment, need to find a missing metal clamp for the front end but have no manual or parts list for finding correct part #. If there is such part to find today.

Also there are some other longtime projects to finish as two Delta cars, a prototype car, some Kyosho, AYK and ABC ... and a very special RC12LS.

This is really story in patience and knowing in intricate detail the correct specs for the car. Wow.

Thanks! Glad you like the Corally.
This was my second project building a rare car from spares. Actually I was not sure in the beginning if I could finish the car.
There is "some" time needed indeed for a project like this but I found it´s more fun than building a kit. You have to take your time and learn what was used from manuals, partslists etc. also it makes sense collecting pictures about such car. But if you really want to build such car to kit specs, this is another task. At least if you want to use correct hardware what could be more difficult than just looking for spares. The bad thing about such projects, much more expensive than buying a kit.

Meanwhile I did build also a Delta Phaser 1/12 and a RC12LS Euro Spec (near finished) from spares. Newest projects are 1/8 scale cars, starting again with just chassis and a few parts. A RC300, an early Delta 1/8 car and another 1/8, early 1970s. Pictures from the builds later. Other 1/12 projects are delayed maybe for wintertime.
