The bar is pretty high around these parts :D

I posted most of my best junk and then moved on. I am only into vintage stuff because I have some of it. I did a little collecting, but quite a bit of what I have has been raced or bashed at some point and not terribly camera worthy.
And now I am pretty into (RC) helis. Can't wait for helis to get vintage, haha.
I started with a Hirobo Lama XRB, then an E-Flite CX2, then an Align 450 SE V2, and my most recent heli (my basher heli  ) is a pimped out e-sky HBk2.

Not to take anything away from good old dirt, but helis take RC to... well, a whole 'nother level.

But I have not ditched dirt! I made this track last summer:

Instead of driving into town to play, I just walk out my front door!

Cheers!

That's a real nice track!
The jumps are not too vintage friendly, but I wouldn't be able to resist a visit if I lived a bit closer ;)

Hey all. It looks like most of my links and pics work again.
Hope to be posting a few projects I have completed since 2008 (!). Man time flies. Holy crap.

As well, I will be selling most of my collection. I really just have too much stuff. An old RC buddy came over a few weekends ago and we built up a Tekin chassis. And then we went through every kit I have and it was pretty fun to look at them again for the first time in years. They have been tucked away in a cabinet not even even seeing light for quite a while now. Its time for someone else to enjoy them. I have a few MIB RC10's as well as the very first RC10 Graphite kt to come off the line.

Any tips for selling this stuff? Is eBay worth it? Maybe on this forum? Craigslist? I want o maximize their value, but also don't have it to be a huge PITA.
Thanks in advance for any tips.

Anyways, BTT if nothing else.

It doesn't cost anything to list stuff in our bst.

Ebay is always king if you want a ton of visiblity for your item. But you pay for it in the end.

I always hate selling stuff, because either way you do it, it becomes a PITA. The only way it's not a pain is to sell to a friend.

I previously had access to BST. Even have PMs confirming it. Doesn't seem I do now.
Probably a good thing. Ha. I'd probably buy stuff instead of sell ;)

So while trying to act knowledgeable on FB and putting my foot in my mouth, I found this thread. Some awesome stuff displayed here. Therefore I figured I'd go ahead and resurrect this ancient thread.

Jeez, guys, first temple is back, then this... what's next? Jay is vacuuming some lexan again and Doug sells box-art repro decals ?!?

Holy crap, I didn't remember there was soooo much vintage goodness in there... my god, some of the cars

Howdy.
I got an email that someone replied to this thread. Wow, it was cool to read a vintage thread about vintage RC stuff :D
Amazingly I still have everything I have put in this thread. Was all committed to selling it and then... well I keep enjoying taking all these kits out of the cabinets they are in every few years and spinning diffs, squishing shocks, and feeling that magic motor cogging. You know what I am talking about

Looks like several of the links are borked now. I still have all the content (and waaaaay more).

Thanks for the BTT! Super enjoyed reading this thread.

Here's an afternoon project from many years ago...
I took 2x Losi XX chassis and cut one near the back of the battery tray area and cut the other near the front.
I then glued both long pieces together and both short pieces together. I made a cheesy drag car with the long chassis (will show it later) and made this with the short chassis.

There are parts from
1) Original RC10 (front wheels, tires, steering knuckles, front axles, modified (vertical stud) steering hub)
2) Losi XXT or XX (chassis, tranny, steering rack, rear body mount (is an XXT front body mount))
3) Losi Rally Weapon (shocks, front arms, rear axles/swingshafts)
4) Losi JRX Pro SE (rear hubs)
5) Associated RC10 DS (rear arms, rear shock tower)
6) Hand made front shock tower
7) RC10 B2 or B3 (body)

I've run it on round cells and lipos. It actually runs quite a bit better with 5 NiMh cells because they are heavier. Although I put a 3s lipo in it and it was nuclear. The 19 turn Trinity Speed Gems motor is a decent match. Have also run it with modern tires on hardpack track and it was not competitive at all. As you would expect. But fun-wise it is tops. Sorry for the crazy terrible paint job. Came with one of my eleventy thousand eBay wins.

EDIT:
Looks like I ran it on 6 cells. Just found this pic. Had a low turn Reedy big comm motor in it. I LOVED those motors.
