Thanks, but compared to boats specifically engineered to go fast, it just creeps. For an entry level deep vee design, it is indeed crazy fast.
The boat world record is like 120 MPH. Like 4 TIMES faster

I just picked this up. It is a Losi NXT graphite Plus.
THis is a really loaded kit, like the upper end Losi's are.
It came with CVDs, Ti nitrate shock shafts, all graphite parts, bearings, ti turnbuckles, ball bearing steering, dual slipper setup, and a few other hop-ups.

I have never run a Losi nitro rig, but this is very nice, even for being nearly 10 years old. I got this one for just over $100. All the parts were in bags and included the box. Kenooze actually won the auction, but the sller apparently didn't want to ship to Europe, so I got it for my highest bid on a second chance offer. Plus he sent me a MIB .18 pull start (which is not shown in the pics). It's not top of the line, but pretty cool nonetheless.

It was a pretty fun build. I used all stainless screws from rcscrewz.com. These screws are going on all my stuff now. They don't rust like the black oxide stuff do over time (at least for me).
This build got me fired up to restore my GT, which is and will be a runner. I'll have pics up fairly soon. It has the A-Main chassis and some other goodies.

The picage:

It had been sitting in a damp place because it was pretty rusted up, however, but was easy to restore. The second one was given to me by a good friend who found one in a hobby shop. He knew I was collecting some old stuff, so got it for me.

Here is the first one:

One condition of the 2nd one as a gift was that he and I drink some beers and build it one evening.

And for kicks, here is the interesting rear suspension

Since I had a perfect one, I decided to run the first one I got. I put era correct electronics in it (but a newer battery) and went to the local track.
Here is a short clip I took with my digital camera.
That sooooo sweet!!! I take it the old Losi stuff is harder to find than the Associated??

I am not sure which brand is harder to find vintage stuff for.
AE had quite a few years head start and a bazillion kit lead... and even after Losi started selling, they didn't sell as many as AE.
You would think Losi would be harder to find, but it isn't really. And usually a bit cheaper.

I recently refurbished (mostly cleaned) my ancient RC10 GT. I rebuilt the diff, shocks, CVDs... the normal stuff. I also replaced a bent shock shaft, the fuel tank, and a bunch of bearings.

This truck has the A-Main chassis, titanium everything, RRP hardened center gear, Fiberlyte front shock tower (I can't find my rear one!), an OS CV something.
I have had this truck in some form or another since 1995. I even have a video of it running in 1995 for the region 11 regionals (just a qualifier, I can't find the main video.. although it is 45 minutes long, haha). Here is the video.
A friend gave me the A-Main chassis in 1997 or something. At the same time, I upgraded to all black parts and to whatever shipping kit had in it.
I took it out today and ran a few tanks, bashing around the yard, etc. It runs like it was new! It had not even been started since 2001. In fact, the last time I ran it was for this video. Same engine, even.

On to the pics:

i think everybody who is somewhat considerate thinks that of thier own threads.

i mean, you want to talk about your stuff with your peers, but not be a post whore about it.

one of the only threads that i couldnt stand after awhile was aggy's darn moonbuggy thread on clodtalk. nothing against aggy or the moonbuggy, but that thread was like 20-something pages long before an actual picture of that darn moonbuggy was posted. he'd post some shocks and everybody would talk about them, he would post a tranny and everybody would talk about that... gawd...

anyway, i think the board is just a little slow lately.

Maybe the one thread for everything format is no good.

I have enough content in this thread to choke an elephant!
And yet not a lot of interaction.

I am imagining many of you going, "oh, that thread again  ", haha.
Ron,

Most of the treads here start well, but then it slims down because it soon comes down to comments like "cool car dude" , now how many of those does anyone want to read?
(Not saying it's not nice to hear when you post your pride up, but it really kills the intrest of the subject after a while.)

Your tread is an exception because your posting new material once in a while, but hey, how're we supposed to know it's not just another "cool car dude"?
Maybe if you'd edit the title of your tread each time you put new pics in...

Personally I'd kinda like if there were a chatroom in here

Hey Ron (Jeep), I remember you from the RCCA boards as well. Good to see that you're still around. Nice collection by the way.

I read this thread but don't have much to contribute as trucks aren't really my forte. Nice stuff though.

Ron doesn't come around these parts much anymore. Not sure why. Tad or Halgar prob scared him away.

A couple posts higher he stated his disappointment with the limited response on his work.
Tad and Halgar go free for once ;)
