Alright, I guess I will chronicle the first time out with the car with Joe and Ed the past Sunday.
I didn't really change anything because as I found out at the Vonats, these tires take a few runs to start working well. First run was kind of a throw away. It was skating around a bit, and I was just getting used to the track...... and a new car. The second pack was better. I was getting more comfortable and wasn't driving
too bad. So on to the setup:
Front: 35w / #2's / silvers. .89 shocks, middle hole tower, middle hole on arm (dynotech), 30* castor blocks, wide GT front axles, lower camber hole in tower. JConcepts Octagons (green compound) on B4 wheels. SXT tire sauce.
Rear : 40w / '#2 / blues. 1.32 rear shocks, inner tower hole, middle hole on arm (dynotech), 1.5 arm mounts, 0* Losi 2038 hubs. Middle camber hole on bulkhead (worlds), lower middle camber hole on hub, hinge pin in lower hole. JConcepts Octagons (green compound) on B4 wheels. SXT tire sauce.
Battery : Shorty lipo in forward position
ESC/Motor : LRP Works Flow Team (blinky), 17.5 LRP Spec motor
Gearing : 78/28 (I think)
One thing I know I will change are the arm mounts. For one, the kept loosening up. I'm actually surprised they didn't break with how old and yellowed they are. But they held together. I'll put a set of 3* mounts on it. That should help the straight line stability. And I may try to drop a step down in oil all around, so 32.5 front/37.5 rear and see what happens. But like I said earlier, the car really wasn't too bad, and it should continue to get better as the tires break in.
