You're right. Now that I think about it we tried the trailing arms for a while but they didn't work as well as the Andy's standard arms on the big high banked paved oval we raced on BITD. The Andy's arms were on it when I pulled it out of the closet so I guessed it was an Andy's chassis as well. Purchasing/acquistions and crew chief was my dad's department back then, I was just the wheel man. :D

I'll develop a special bulkhead for graphite applications, with additional bracing if needed.

Now you got me looking at carbon chassis :D sorry if it's a daft question do you run them without the front nose tubes braces . As all the builds I look at for carbon chassis have none?

That is a really nice tq10, good candidate for some testing.

The carbon chassis is way stiffer than the gold pan nose/pan assembly so the nose braces aren't needed.

We'll see how it goes... the chassis may be stiff enough that it doesn't need any rear bracing, unlike the aluminum tubs. That would certainly make things easy

I'm getting very close to releasing the kit! I got the first motor plate sample today and it fits as good as it Looks!

As you can see, this assembly is put together with an original Stealth slipper. All the development to this point was based on a B4 top shaft and v2 slipper, so I wanted to check compatability for those that may want to run the Stealth setup. Well, it clears, but *barley*, versus the nut that holds the bulkhead and chassis tabs together.

I think I'm going to machine the inner slipper plate about 0.020" to give more clearance. For people who buy the kit and want to run a Stealth slipper I'll machine their inner slipper plate for free, no problem.

Also, I need a slight modification to the trans case to clear the Stealth slipper assembly. No big deal.

Other than that I need to order some tubing for the rear braces for those that want them, and make them up. I'll try to get some instructions together too, I've already been documenting the procedure with pictures. Getting oh so close.

I've decided to change the official name off this car/kit to B1M. It's a name I've used before on a one-off build, so basically I'm settling the name from myself :mrgreen:

Last night I finally put a transponder in the B1M, and compared it to me running my B44.3 in the same outing. The B1M runs a Reedy 8.5T, the 44.3 a Reedy 7.5 turn. Track is damp indoor clay, high traction. Also, the B44 is on slicks, the B1M on Barcodes. Same battery packs.

In the end, the B1M was less than a second slower than the 44.3, maybe on average .7-.8 sec slower. I was pretty happy with this result, all things considered. I honestly feel the B1M turns better, it just can't punch out of the corners like the 4WD car, and is a little slower on the straights.

A buddy of mine, who happens to be one of the fastest guys at our track, drove it and said it turns better than his modified B6D, so I was happy to hear that. He also commented on how predictable and stable the car is. He thought it needs some big bores though (running original gold body shocks right now), or at minimum heavier shock oil.

The car has more in it for sure. I think it could easily handle a 7.5T motor. Thing with the 4 gear box MM layout is that it does not try to wheeley, so I think it could take advantage of a bit more motor. There's still more to be wrung out of it with simple tuning too. I think the geometry and weight distribution are fairly spot on, just needs some fine tuning on the spring rates and pistons and/or oil.

As far as the kit is concerned, I should be releasing it in a couple weeks.

No recent video, just this one when the car wasn't really sorted out yet. The rear was really loose still here. Going from 1.5 deg to 3 deg rear toe per side fixed that. The car is way faster and more stable now than it was in this video

Hi , how far off is the carbon chassis version ? Of the kit . I now run rc carbon works chassis and loving it. And now you have me thinking I need another rc10 to go 4wd :mrgreen:

As soon as I release the "regular" B1M version the graphite chassis version won't be far behind. I think it is only going to need a new bulkhead. I have a test muel TQ10 waiting for the conversion. ;)
