The Trinity wheels go back to at least 1990 so the time frame is actually pretty close. It's not impossible that the wheels got used together I just think there's something off about it.

Based on the parts that were originally on the car...early rear bulkhead, early towers, .56 front shocks...it seems more likely that there were other rear wheels on that car before the Trinity wheels. You've got Andy's arms too, and by the time they were out 2" wheels would've been more common than 1.6" wheels.

However you've now replaced some of the early parts with Team car parts...inline front axles, team rear bulkhead, 1.5 degree rear carriers...so it's actually the front Jellybeans (and front tower) that you might need to be replaced. Those parts came on cars that used dish wheels so the Jellybeans would've been a downgrade.

By no means should you actually feel obligated to change anything though. If the car looks good to you that's all that matters. ;)

Hi Phin,

You are right it is a real mixture, a real survivor!

It came with the inline front axles and the rear carriers which are 0 degree.

Cheers Dave. :)

Hi Guys,

I redyed the Trinity Rims to black and added a pair of Pro-Line Flat 80's tires and a pair of CE wheels

with tires.

Onto the electrics!

Latest pics,

Cheers, Dave. :)

Not trying to knock the buggy at all. If it were me, I would dye the fronts to match, or add some black TQ front wheels and some period correct Ti links . The chassis/arm/trans/trinity wheel/RPS bellcranks bothbellcranks all scream 1988/1989 to me, just needs a RCPS Mirage SS and paint!

Hi Charlie don't surf,

Thank you for your input, much appreciated, you are right!

There have been some Trinity fronts on E-bay.

I have some Tecnacraft turnbuckles, but not enough to make a set.

I see there are some available from Hong Kong.

I didn't think of a RCPS Mirage SS, I was just going to use a Protech 11.

I need to look at some of the builds with the mirage body, that just might change my mind.

Again thank you for your help,

Cheers, Dave. :)

Hi clm,

Thank you,

With the black arms and black gearbox, white suspension mounts, white bulkhead etc,

the mismatched wheels actually look really good, much better than in the picture.

Cheers, Dave. :)

If Jammin Jay can mix black and white wheels on his winning RC10 in the 80's you most definitely can now ;)

Granted he had black front and white rears... lol

Hi Guys,

I bought this washing bag to wash all the plastics in my washing machine.

Any parts that are completely white will stay white and any parts that are partly dyed/ or have dye

residue will be dyed black.

Then I will see how the original bulkhead looks.

Has anyone ever drilled the early bulkhead for the longer camber link?

:)

I think drilling the early bulkhead for the late link position will be difficult being the early wing tube mounting area is longer, the bottom of the early wing tube is in the location where the link would need to go :)

Hi clm,

Bugger, you are right.

I will have to think about this,

or it just means the buggy will have the revised/later rear bulkhead.

Cheers, Dave. :)

Hi clm,

Wasn't the longer camber link an upgrade to stop camber change when the suspension compresses?

I am aiming for parts to be pre 1990, so the revised bulkhead is o.k.

Cheers, Dave. :)

Hi Guys,

I have been working on the electrics.

The motor just needed a good clean, with the speedy I had to change the receiver wiring.

The servo I swapped for one that I had, same model, that has good wiring.

I just need to mount the receiver, but also need to get a antenna.

Latest pics,

Cheers, Dave. :)
