Re: Dave's Graphite Resto
Hi Adam,
I am restoring a buggy that I bought off E-bay,
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=39&t=28582&start=2250
It has a MIP SP1 gearbox and black Andys front arms.
Cheers, Dave.

Re: Dave's Graphite Resto
My first MIP gearbox restoration,
The outdrives were corroded onto the shafts, took some getting off.
Everything else went well, it has a ball diff and does not have the Tork control on the top shaft.
The idler gear was loose on the idler shaft, I center punched a couple of marks on the shaft and
also used Loctite heavy duty retainer for slip fitted parts.
Latest pics,
Cheers, Dave.

Re: Dave's Graphite Resto
I'm not a fan of dying rims black (unless they are re-re rims) but I'm sure it would look good with your buggy.
I like the period racer look you've got going on.

Re: Dave's Graphite Resto
Hi RJ,
The fronts that came with it are already dyed and the rears looking closely at them probably have been
dyed as well, so I may as well try dyeing them both to the same color, black.
Here is the latest pics with my Jelly bean wheels with your favorite tires, Octi Grabs!
Cheers, Dave.

Re: Dave's Graphite Resto
Looks nice.
Are the Trinity rear wheels 2.2"? They seem like a later addition to me and don't match too well with Jellybean fronts. I would expect something like a 2.0" Proline 2519 rear on a MIP trans car with Andy's arms.

Re: Dave's Graphite Resto
Hi Phin,
Thank you for the information.
These are the wheels that came on the buggy.
They are Trinity 2.2", are they too new for a pre 1990 buggy?
I do like the Jelly beans on the front with the solid rears.
Cheers, Dave.
