RC10 - FF10 -Done-

Post by sandkil »

I'm not a hundred percent sure how and where this is going to end up in the end, but i will give it a try.
I had another thread on here on prel. investigation.
https://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=42443

I will give it a try. This is going to be a slow one and i will use "the Postmans" prototype as some what a base, but with own diviations and solutions.
For example I will be using Kyosho Optima rere parts instead of Yokomo 870c parts for the front end.

I also found this interesting web page wich helps alot with some of the details.
http://www.rabbit-racing.jp/works.html
focusing on the RRT 1991 F-91

Here is the donor car.
For those who thinks that it's sacrilegious to cut this into bits and there after merging it with Kyosho part... well I'm sorry, but i'm going to do it.

I'm not against the project itself but there are plenty of crappier tubs you can start with. :?

Well the chassis isn't flawless.
Gave it a wash in hot water and simple green.

That's in very nice condition. It doesn't even have a servo access hole in it. :(

Ok, we'll see if I use it or not. A new #6300 is about 70-75$ shipped and I do not wish to use a scratched up one.

No worries. As I mentioned in the beginning I will base the build on the french prototype that have an upper deck.

So I made a mockup graphite chassis just so i can figure how to go about it all.
I will not use the rear a-arms. They're only for reference.
My brain is hurting now. Time for beer

Thanks!
With a graphite chassis the kick up will be the 3 degree on the arm mounts.
I have tried to see if "the Postman's" rc10 had a kick on his chassis, but i doesn't look like it. Looking att the rear guard and motor plate.

but it could be that he did what i'm thinking of.
If to use gold pan chassi I would try to give it a bend just infront of the rear bulkhead. It might still be possible to use existing screw holes on the sides.
There will be a small angle differance for the top deck when doing this.

I listened to you guys.
I decided to save the old B stamped chassis and ordered a re-release chassis for this build. I will give a bit more time for parts to gather up before I start this one.
