Tell that to 1989

Agreed, especially with the rere Chinese noseplates. But this is how they were ran bitd

I was thinking about using ASC7314 GT tube brace mounts with some long brace tubes... alum. or Ti because I have rod in 3/16" dia. Not sold on it, would have to mock it up to see where the mounts would have to be on the chassis plate.

Tracking is showing a Futaba R203GF receiver do to arrive later this morning.

This is what I was trying to figure out the other day, the step/lip/edge or whatever you want to call it at the battery cup. I'm going to use a shorty lipo. I want the battery to sit flat. At first, a 1.5mm thick spacer in the bulkhead was the first option. It would work, as I have some super thin (0.008") #M 5907 black VHB double stick foam tape to secure it. But... there would be that gap under the battery! I moved on, looking all around and found some black foam sheet (craft stuff) that I had gotten from my local WalMart. Same thickness as the bottom of the batt. cup! I can spray the back of the foam with some adhesive if needed.

Yeah those gt mounts are kind of ideal. I think you can get some fancier ones from the aftermarket anodized in a a couple of colors

Jeff, nose plate and chassis are supposed to be US made, but probably sourced from import material. Yeah I can imagine they were run that way, maybe with the glass version the chassis flexed to absorb some shock?

I would make some kind of bracket for the nose plate, then design a cf top plate to go from that to the battery posts. Sort of like the TPS Nova chassis.

@s@scr8p

Thanks for the pic. That helps me understand better.

I'll be cutting/shaping one of Jeff's Factory Works Kydex rear guards, sort of like this...

Futaba receiver!

I place a piece of masking tape on the area where I'm thinking stuff will mount, then put a small piece of servo mount tape on the RX. This makes it easy to remove by pulling up the masking tape. Eliminates the hassle of getting it off the chassis plate to adjust. I have a few different antenna mounts to chose from but will hold off until I have the body fitted before drilling another hole!

I have the rear motor guard fitted, still going to do a bit of shaping to the top corners.

I've finished up with the motor guard, took a bit off the motor plate while I was at it. Just in time to, my motor came this morning, Reedy M3 17.5. I used Lunsford #7932 titanium motor screws to mount it. The ESC will be here in a couple of more days, along with, what I think, are the final parts!

I'll be making my own custom aluminum wing mounts, just waiting for some black AVID wing buttons.

A special mention goes out the @GoMachV for all the button head "cool things" washers. :D

Looks really classy. Just missing a front bumper and tubes IMO.

Thanks! I have a front bumper coming from Shapeways, beating my brain about the tubes/front nose plate brace... got to try a few ideas.

Getting there!

I've just about got the body to fit everywhere, time to look at some mounts.

I almost had a speed control Saturday morning until USPS dropped it off at the wrong local post office. Now it was to go back to the sort facility and return. So, maybe Monday...
