Jeff, have you tried a shorter rear tower with 1.02's on the back of one of these? I'd think everything would still work fine (may need to push the shock mounts out on the tower slightly), but the bodies would fit much nicer.

Paging Mr. @GoMachV :D

Excellence question, Jason. I've wondered about that myself. You could just use some ball stud washers behind the shock mount bushing instead of changing the shock block mounting position on the tower?

We can modify the tower if you want. The tower is made for 1.32/1.02 or 1.32/1.32 with spacers so it wouldn’t drop very far- like 1/4” or so maybe? I don’t know that it would help a lot but it may.

Jeff, I'm good with the standard rear tower. Maybe somebody else want to give it a go?

I'm really getting on with the body trim/mount now. Getting close to showing my work, but first, I have to make an extended (longer) front body post. I used a bunch of washers to get the correct length needed. Now, it's to the lathe with a piece of 3/8" black delrin...

Thanks Jeff. Like your shop's high level of precision, I do the same.

I have an update on fitting the Jammin' Jumper body today, it's almost trimmed to my liking. Still to do, trim the sides to meet the bottom of the chassis plate. It took some serious trim, check, repeat many times! At first, I was attempting to get it to fit, keeping the tail end intact. That was proving to be very hard, the top of the "cab" getting flimsy as heck. I abandoned that and went with the chopped look. I ended up lowering the rear body mount block approx. 3mm in order to have the rear of the side pods be below the chassis plate. The nose is a bit more forward than I like (may do some trimming) but there was no choice due to the shape of the body and chassis plate. I was not going to cut of the chassis!

Looks good. Personally, I like the chopped look. My daily driver has an old Andy's Renegade body with the back chopped. No need to remove the wing to remove the body so wing is screwed to the shock tower. Looks good going around the track especially with a couple small rooster tails.

I was thinking about how to mount something, beside just sticking it to the chassis plate with servo tape...

I made a decision on an antenna mount this morning, a Kyosho in gunmetal seems to have the right look for the C2CF.

It's a dark, rainy day, good time to be at the table working on the build.

I'll be using the Factory Works shock tower aluminum wing mounts I really dig these Avid wing buttons so they will need a part to go under the wing and attach to the wire. I've taken some 3/8" dia. aluminum rod and cross drilled it. Next. get in the chair at the lathe and make them look cool. 8)

Thank you kindly. I don't make stuff for money, unless I need a few bucks. Always here to help a brother out though.

After a snafu yesterday with the first wing mount (crappy measurement, poor planning) I got my game on this morning and turned a nice pair.

The body is trimmed and edges are being polished as of right now. More on that soon.

Very nice! So, they take a 3mm FH screw from the top and a 3mm grub screw from the bottom to lock onto the wire? Should look great on the car.

You could go 3mm, I went with 4-40 because I have the hardware, drills and taps. Yes, the bottom grub screw locks the wire.
