XLR8 wrote: Fri Apr 27, 2018 9:44 pm Those Schumacher 4-row rear tires scr8p recommended should work well for you. I've found them to be a good all-around dirt and short grass tire (perfect for the backyard). Schumacher also made a "Mini Spike 15x12" (#2002378) that I've found works great on my dirt track when it has become dusty dry-slick. Unfortunately these have been discontinued but you can find them occasionally posted for sale on ebay.
I should also mention that since you're planning to run your car, you probably should replace the plastic knock-off wheel nuts with proper metal nylock nuts. The knock-offs are meant for display; they won't secure the wheel under power.
If you could share a link on where I could order those metal nylock nuts so that I may order them, it would help me a lot. Thanks. :)

You can find the nuts on ebay. Choose a seller close to you so the wait is not long. Here is an example from a quick search, try it!

Thank you Nomad. Don't you ever sleep?
So, yeah, the rears are #8-32 and the fronts are #4-40.
I usually find common items like this at my local Fastenal.

I'm 58 and feel the same way; no time to waste on mail order, I need it NOW. However, I also need my sleep.

Thanks for the replies NomadRacer and XLR8. I'm gonna look at local hardware stores today. If I don't find them, I'll just order online. I too am inpatient and want everything immediately. Lol

Your welcome, glad to help when and where I can.

I get my 8-32 screws for RC10 front end and rear bulkhead here: http://www.fastener-express.com/aluminum-fasteners-nuts-washers.aspx

I use their 4-40 and 8-32 nyloc nuts. You can get different colors also!

Thanks NomadRacer. Btw, is there supposed to be a washer under each locknut?

@Vodzilla

I don't use washers under nyloc nuts myself. The washers I do use are under button head, flat head, and socket head screws. I have a preference for washers from Factory Works aka GoMachV here on the forum. Not only do they spread the load, they look cool too!

Example of application...

Got nuts?

The front might need a washer per side as there is more play than I would like. :)

But this happened yesterday. I may have overtightened the metal nut.

Two sets of inline front axles are coming my way. :)

I haven't decided which tires I'm gonna get for the JC Racing wheels though. :)

Cool. If your cranking down on the nut to remove play, get you some shims to compensate for the slack. Install on the back side of the wheel.
