RC10B2 CVA/CVD options

Post by JasonB »

Do the rere worlds CVA's fit the B2? Are there other options?

I would really like to upgrade from the u-joints for vintage racing, but cannot find a MIP kit available for the B2 anywhere.

they should technically fit, although probably just a tad short just like they are on the worlds re-release. I believe you should be able to shim them out to get where you need to be.

it sucks, I think this is the biggest problem now for rc10 suspension; the associated set is really too short, the slightly longer bone is not available, and there aren't many other options. You can fit a yokomo bone with some modifications, but they aren't that easy to get or who knows how long they will be available.

I put a set of Associated CVA's in my b3, but with the b44 +2mm bone since the worlds CVA was too short. It also took some dremeling of the arm (the cross brace by the outer pin), since the CVA extends out farther. I* would assume the B2 would be similar.

Otherwise, regular RC10 CVD's should work just fine. I've interchanged CVD's between RC10 and B2/B3 with no issues

The cvd's for the custom works GBX are basically b2/b3.

Thanks for the responses guys. I ended up buying a set for the CW GBX.

The shortness of the rere CVD's always bugged me. I had them pop out at least half a dozen times before I limited droop to prevent it. Now that they are discontinued (WHY?!?) they are also getting somewhat hard to find unless you want to order from China.

Just for discussion sake, I have some OG RC10 CVD's with the larger 1/4" axles like the B2/B3 sport kits. I didn't know for sure which 3/16" outer axle (stub) would fit with the original bones to fit the regular B2/B3. Is it the part #7380? If that's true, then is the B3 #9278 CVD bone exactly the same length as an RC10 CVD bone?

Yes, I've interchanged RC10, B2 and B3 "bones" for the CVDs with no issues.

3/16 axles are easier to find. However finding truck length cvd bones will take a bit more effort.

I tried to find the custom works 7210 cvds for my b2 and I can’t find them anywhere. Are they the same as the csw7210 short cvds?

I can't find the 7210's anywhere either. Must be discontinued. Any other options for 3/16" CVDs without having to shell out $100 on eba-y?

I doubt they are discontinued. The supply of them seems to get bought up and then sold on eBay at inflated prices. Within the last year I've bought them for my projects from Amain, Beach RC, and Custom Works RC. All look to be out of stock right now, but I would keep checking back. Are you in a rush? The parts are available separately.
