Dying natural wheels to match original AE yellow?

I'm building an RC10T2 for vintage racing and I would like to run original-style dished yellow wheels. I've been running hex rears while getting it setup but I decided I really hate the appearance of non-dish wheels on old trucks. Trouble is the yellow rears for the 3/16" axles (7803Y) have gotten quite hard to find. Has anyone tried to dye the natural white to match the AE yellow? What color dye should I use?

I have a set of B2 or B3 wheels and I tried to dye them black for my Team Car project. I used Rit dye first by the instructions and then again with a stronger dye bath. The first time they went from yellow to brown and the second bath darkened them...

i never have any problems really, i dont use salt, i use 3 boxes of black rit dye with maybe about 3 inches of water, and my parts turn black with above 2-3 minutes no problem once the water gets to tempature

anyone come across a yellow paint that will somewhat match the colour of the losi xx yellow wheels?? Any boxart pictures show wheels as a yellow but in reality they are more on the neon side of yellow??.
Or has anyone had luck painting wheels? how...

So can you dye these wheels? I bought some RC10 ones in pink and they are pretty rough and would look better in black!

They will appear black. Under certain light conditions you can see some shading but it's very hard to see.

Real yokomo wheels should be dyeable with no problem.

my friend dyed these wheels in yellow. he imports women's cloths and is a fabric expert. but, I didn't know he could di same job on the wheels. he took my 10 yrs old teflon grease spray after spent a whole day to do this :mrgreen:

I believe the Yellow three-piece wheels (like mine shown below) were included with World's kits.
I am wondering if they came in any other kits, as well;
I mean, could these have been included in a CE or some other kit?
