Hate to do that... I stole these tires from my Parma Hemi Coupe, and it looks sad sitting there "on blocks." If these just won't clear as they are, maybe I'd better just put the worn Bolink tires back on until I can get some new ones, and let the Hemi Coupe have its wheels back.

It's from HPI. I got it at my local shop, but I'm sure Tower Hobbies or other places have it as well. I didnlt know they made a notchback until I saw it on the rack. I had only seen fastback Mustang bodies before.

You got the perfect stance on her now. 8) I'm thinking I'll pick up the 68 Camaro from Tower for my 10 now. The muscle car bodies look perfect on these 10's.

What color are you going with? I can see light blue on her with round white number ovals on the doors myself.

That's really close to the color I was thinking of, actually. Maybe a hair lighter. I was planning more of a street look, but now that I see it with the roundels and stripes... hmm... well, I'll get it painted this weekend and see which way I want to go then.

It would look awfully sharp like that.

I just picked up the HPI 68 Camaro. I'll be joining you soon.

Nice! Now, for a Camaro, I have to say white with red SS stripes is ideal.

It's just too bad there aren't any good looking pan car wheels around anymore. Gotta find paint jobs that look OK with plain black wheels.

White would look cool with black wheels! We shall see. I've been thinking about adaptors for touring car wheels ,but I have the feeling that would look funky on it. Probably stick with the standard pan car wheels. I've got a set of asphalt caps on BBS wheels for my 10L. Hopefully it will look good those on it.

Finally got around to painting this thing. Mixed up my own color, sort of a teal green.

Unfortunately, I'm an idiot; I got antsy and put the black backer on before the green was entirely dry around the edges, so the black bled through in a couple spots. Still looks OK overall; I'll just have to go by really fast so no one notices the blemishes. :)

I'll get more photos outdoors after I decal it.

You could always wipe the paint off in the spots that showed through with alcohol if you used a water based paint. I had to fix a few places on my Camaro body like that and it turned out perfect. No matter what you do that car turned out looking very cool. 8)

BTW my 10L project is about to undergo a major change so holding off at the moment. Picked up a 10Lss from Gomachv that will get the Camaro body and also another special body that I won't let on about yet. The 10L is also getting a cool body I found. All classified for now.

Are those Bolink wheels on there? I think I'll have to get a set like that.

Yep, those are Bolink wheels. They're actually the last set of race tires this car wore, from the last time I put it on a race track back in 1996. I need to get some new wheels for it at some point.

And any sort of touch-up would be a roll of the dice, since I mixed up this color especially for this car, and I'd have to match it. Probably safer to just leave the black smudges. We'll just call this the "runner" body, and I'll do up a better one for display later. Maybe a Cuda or a Pantera...

Didn't think about the custom color match. It's bound to get some battle damage anyway. I'll have to come it with a runner body for mine too and keep the first one for the shelf.

Progress:

I'm still not much of a fan of HPI's decals. I don't understand how they can make such nice crisp body shells with such good details and supply them with such ill-fitting decals and window masks. Going to add stripes and roundels and whatnot to clutter it up a bit and make the mistakes less noticeable. Then, it's time to get some electronics back in this sucker.
